Continuous casting billet,as the raw materials of iron and steel products,its quality decides the final quality of the finished product and affects the end user's experience.So one of steelmaking plant's main management goals is manufacturing quality qualified casting billet based on the function of the finished products.This paper reviews the historical development process of continuous casting technology.And gradually mature technology enables a substantial improvement and optimization of casting processes and technologies.Through research of continuous casting billet's main quality defects and their impact on product performance,considering the bloom slab section is bigger and the steel grade is more special,center segregation and loose become important issues affecting the quality of bloom.It greatly influences the stable,high quality production process of bloom caster.Based on this thinking,it leads to soft reduction function and practical application of the technology.This paper expounds the process principle of soft reduction technique.Then summaries and discusses the key technology.In order to solve the practical problems occurring in the process of continuous casting,in this paper,the dynamic soft reduction of bloom caster at Baosteel is studied.Although through parameter study,groping and adjustment,technology effect is remarkable.With the extension of the steel grade and the increasing of the quality requirements,there are more problems directly affecting the control system running stably and reliably.As roll gap calibration and roll gap control are vital first step of soft reduction control system,this paper researches and makes the optimized improvement underactual production conditions.This paper compares the pros and cons of several soft reduction roll gap calibration tools.The original roll gap calibration equipment exists more disadvantages and potential safety hazard.In order to getting efficiency improvement and reducing the security hidden danger,the paper researches a new efficient roll gap calibration tool and optimizes the process of roll gap calibration according to the actual data of bloom caster at Baosteel.It has realized the rapid,accurate and effective roll gap calibration target.With the completion of roll gap calibration tool,the main problems related to the roll gap calibration in the application of soft reduction are objectively analyzed.Then the paper puts forward some practical and effective solutions.At the same time focus on the distortion problem of the roll gap detection quantity.It is caused by elastic deformation and equipment clearance.By collecting the roll gap values obtained under different pressure of 1~9# withdrawal and straightening machine.The paper gets the corresponding relationship between the pressure and the roll gap,thus forming a kind function of roll gap automatic checking.The maximum deviation of roll gap detection is down to average 0.1mm from the previous2.2mm.It makes substantial increase in roll gap control accuracy,ensuring the function and effects of the control.On the basis of data compared with the position value from position feedback signal and the system settings,roll gap automatic checking function calculates the roll gap compensation value.The value superposes to the PID controller.The output control the hydraulic servo valve opening of withdrawal and straightening machine.So as to realize the controlled machine's roller rising or falling.The successful application of roll gap automatic checking function offers data basis of equipment abnormal warning and troubleshooting when carrying out routine maintenance.
