Metal materials are the lifeblood of national industrial development.Their chemical composition and structure determine their properties and applications.In order to give full play to the properties of metal materials and make them rational use,the chemical composition and structure of metal materials must be analyzed and characterized.Therefore,combined with the advantages of electrochemical principles and mass spectrometry detection,an electrochemical mass spectrometry method was developed for the analysis of irregular metal samples and metal micro-area analysis.The main research contents of this paper are listed as follows:(1)An online EC/MS analysis method was developed for analysis of irregular metal samples.First,the EC/MS experimental device was developed and the principle of the EC/MS in analysis of irregular metal samples was introduced in detail.Then,the qualitative and quantitative performance of EC/MS analytical methods were investigated.Finally,the online EC/MS method was applied to the analysis of irregular shaped metal objects commonly used in daily life and industrial applications.The results show that the EC/MS method can directly analyze irregular metal samples without sample pretreatment with the advantages of fast analysis speed,high sensitivity,low sample consumption and small invasiveness to samples.In the near future,it can be used for food safety and environmental testing,quality and safety testing of various irregular shaped metal objects in the fields of mechanical manufacturing.(2)An electrochemical microprobe mass spectrometry(μECP-MS)analysis method was developed for micro-area anslysis of metal materils.Similary,the experimental device was first developed and the principle of μECP-MS in micro-area analysis was introduced.The qualitative and quantitative performance of μECP-MS analysis method and the sampling performance of μECP-MS device were investigated.The performance of μECP-MS was demonstrated by applying the μECP-MS for the analysis of alloys,semiconductor microchips,solder joints and other common metal samples in daily life.Results showed that the μECP-MS can used for sequential analysis of metal component and oragnic component on an alloy with high sensitivity,and high lateral and depth resolution mass spectrometry imaging of the metal components on an alloywas obtained.This method have great potential in micro-area analysis of alloy in virous areas.
