The CSR-H has been revised many times since its promulgation in July 2012.At present, the rules are basically no longer changed and have been effectively tested by the shipping market. The CSR-H integrates the CSR for Bulk Carrier and Oil Tanker, and higher requirements have been put forward in structural design.A lot of pertinent modifications have been made in wave loads,FEM evaluation scope, buckling, corrosion, fatigue, etc. With the new rules' conditions, not only the difficulty of structural design is increased, the design cycle is prolonged, but also the thickness of plate and the size of profile are increased simultaneously. So that should have higher requirements for structural design and cost control methods for shipyards. This paper has analyzed the differences between the CSR-H and the CSR in hull structure analysis, and devoted to investigating the influence of the modification of the rules on hull structure design. Then the method which according to the CSR for the design modification and upgrading from the parent ship could be found. So the optimization design applying to the requirements of CSR-H can be realized. In this paper, the newly built110,000 T refined Oil Tanker is taken as the beginning research. With the pertinent modification of the parent ship, the preliminary design can be completed.Through the specification calculation of CSR-H and calculation of FEM,the plan is screened and optimized continuously. Finally, the plan is made to apply to the CSR-H and more economical.By comparing with the parent ship, the influence of upgrading from CSR to CSR-H on hull structure is obtained.Research achievement has some reference significance for analyzing structure design and optimization of oil tanker cargo base on CSR-H.
