Geosteering-while-drilling technology is accompanied by complicated oil and gas reservoirs exploration and development,which is a fusion technology combined with drilling technology,logging technology,geological modeling technology and computer visualization technology.And it realized data information process for real-time measurement,transmission,processing,rendering,interpretation,formation evaluation and geological steering while drilling.As pilot geological model of geosteering-while-drilling system,the reservoir geological data is the basis of guiding drilling and guiding steering in system.Therefore,the implementation of reservoir geological data 3D visualization is the key researched problem.The paper studied the key technologies of 3D visualization of reservoir geological data,and proposed a set of geological data visualization scheme with independent intellectual property rights,which laid the foundation for geosteering-while-drilling platform.This paper analyzed current 3D visualization research situation and geological data visualization development situation at home and abroad,and summarized the scientific visualization theory,3D visualization rendering method and reservoir geological parameters prediction method that is existed extensively at present,and then put 3D geological model visualization as the main research of geological data visualization.According to the sources of 3D geological model,the representation methods of 3D geological model and the prediction methods of geological parameter,we researched the basic principle and modeling process of 3D geological modeling based on corner-point grid,and got representation method of 3D geological model based on corner-point grid,and proposed a committee neural network(CNN)prediction model.CNN model is a kind of parallel prediction model based on artificial neural network.Experiment results show that CNN model performed better than individual neural network model.Moreover,we analyzed and processed 3D geological model based on GRDECL file format,and interpreted geological skeletons,geological faults,geological horizons,geological boundary and geological intersection using 3D geological model data.We mainly researched the method of 3D visualization of geological data,and proposed the representation method of various geological structure based on corner-point grid,3D visualization method of geological structure model based on corner-point grid,property mapping color method,3D visualization method of geological property model based on texture mapping,3D visualization method of geological interpreted data and visualization method of geological section.Finally,in order to solve the problem of low performance of 3D visualization rendering,we referred from 3D visualization method in OpendTect open source platform and used texture mapping technology based on hardware.At the same time,Open Inventor software development package and the cache technology was used for system,which make a greatly improve the performance of 3D visualization.
