Barite ore reserves are very rich in China,but with the continuous mining of barite ore,the proportion of low-grade barite ore is increasing.The gangue minerals in barite ore are mainly calcite,dolomite,silica-bearing quartz,montmorillonite and so on.Therefore,in order to use barite reasonably and efficiently,it is very important to separate barite from calcium and silicon minerals efficiently.Through pure mineral test and actual mineral test,the effects of collectors,inhibitors and interaction on the separation process of barite from calcium and silicon minerals were studied.The floatability of barite,calcite,dolomite,quartz and montmorillonite in a single collector system and the difference between them were investigated by using single collector pure mineral test with collector dosage and pH as variables respectively.The results show that sodium oleate,sodium dodecyl sulfate,sodium dodecyl sulfonate and soap are effective collectors for barite,calcite and dolomite,and barite has better flotation differences with quartz and montmorillonite.The results of combined collector test show that there is a good flotation difference between barite and dolomite in sodium oleate+soap system,and barite has better flotability in sodium dodecyl sulfate+sodium dodecyl sulfonate system,with obvious flotation effect.The effects of depressants on the flotation separation of barite and calcium-containing silicon minerals were investigated in sodium oleate+soap and sodium dodecyl sulfate+sodium dodecyl sulfonate combined collector systems,respectively.The results show that TW is an effective inhibitor of calcite and dolomite containing calcium mineral.There are obvious flotation differences between barite and calcium-bearing minerals.The mineral interaction experiments were carried out in the system of sodium oleate+soap,sodium dodecyl sulfate+sodium dodecyl sulfonate and inhibitor of TW,respectively.The effects of calcium mineral calcite and dolomite on barite flotation were investigated.The results show that the addition of calcite and dolomite will strongly inhibit the flotation of barite in the sodium oleate+soap system,whether or not the inhibitor is added.The inhibition is not weakened by increasing the dosage of sodium oleate+soap combined collector.In the system of sodium dodecyl sulfate+sodium dodecyl sulfonate,the flotation inhibition of barite is weaker by adding calcite and dolomite.However,when TW was reduced,there was no interaction between calcium-bearing minerals and barite.Using zeta potential and infrared spectroscopy techniques,the combination of sodium dodecyl sulfate+sodium dodecyl sulfate and the inhibitor TW against barite,calcite,dolomite,quartz and montmorillonite were investigated.Mechanism of action.Zeta potential results show that the adsorption capacity of the combined collectors in five minerals is barite>calcite>dolomite>quartz,montmorillonite at pH=7.5;TW shows the most adsorption in calcite,followed by For dolomite,the surface of the barite is least adsorbed.Infrared spectroscopy analysis showed that the collector sodium dodecyl sulfate+sodium dodecyl sulfate and the inhibitor TW were adsorbed on the surface of barite,calcite and dolomite,and the collector was in barite.Dolomite shows chemical adsorption and physical adsorption on the surface of calcite.The adsorption of TW on the surface of barite has both chemical adsorption and physical adsorption.It has only chemical adsorption on the surface of calcite and dolomite.In the actual ore flotation test,the BaSO4 grade of barite ore is 48%.The main gangue minerals are calcite,dolomite,quartz and montmorillonite.In order to recover barite,grinding fineness-0.074 mm 80.00%,sodium dodecyl sulfate+sodium dodecyl sulfonate as flotation collector and TW as flotation inhibitor,the flotation circuit is adopted in one roughing and two concentrations.Finally,the barite concentrate with BaSO4 grade of 81.02%and recovery of 83.04%was obtained.
