Drilling technology is widely used in the processing and manufacturing of mental parts,especially in the field of hydraulic component manufacturing.The burrs generated during the process of drilling have always been an obstacle to the development of production automation,machining precision and high efficiency of drilling technology,and also have become a bottleneck for improving product quality.Research on the mechanism and control technology of drilling burr can effectively advance the development of drilling technology,which is of great significance for improving product quality and performance.Based on the analysis and summary of the research results of metal cutting burrs at home and abroad,researches on the burr formation in drilling have been conducted from the perspective of theoretical analysis,simulation and experimental studies.The formation mechanism and control technology of drilling burrs have been researched.The main content and research results of this paper can be summarized as the following aspects:(1)The research progress of drilling technology and drilling burr were analyzed and summarized.the basic shape and characterization method of burr drilling were described.The basic analytical model of drilling burr were put forward.(2)The formation process of the two-dimensional orthogonal cutting burrs and intersecting hole drilling burrs were simulated using the finite element metal cutting simulation software Deform-2D&3D.The deformation process of the material at the end of the workpiece and the different stages of burr formation were systematically analyzed.(3)Using Al6061-T6 as workpiece material,the experiment of drilling intersecting hole was carried out with different experimental parameters.The influence of feed rate,drilling speed,drill tip angle,base hole diameter and offset distance on drilling intersecting hole burrs were studied.The main factors and the significant interaction factors affecting burr formation were analyzed.The morphology of the drilling burrs was observed and analyzed.(4)Based on the theoretical analysis and experimental research on the formation of burrs in the cross-hole drilling,the significant influence factors affecting the formation and variation of burrs were discussed.According to the basic principle of less burr machining,several drilling methods for actively controlling burr formation were proposed.Those methods provide technicalguidance for achieving less burr formation during cross-hole drilling and have important practical engineering value.This research work is a significant component of the National Natural Science Foundation of China(No.51075192).The contents of this research further enrich and develop the theory of drilling burr formation and control technology,and also provide an important reference for the active control of burrs in production.
