As large consumers of electricity,Qingyuan's iron and steel enterprises are featured with large scale, continuous production equipment, concentrated load, and tendency to produce impact load. The impact load generated by steel enterprises mainly depends on the change of production conditions. The active power and reactive power show an irregular impact change trend in a short period of time, which will affect not only the normal operation of nearby power plant units, but also the safe and stable operation of the entire power grid, especially the regional grid with weak grid structure. When many impact loads are concentrated in the regional power grid, the impact of the interaction between them on the grid cannot be described by a simple linear superposition, and the range of impact effects is difficult to visually estimate.Effectively analyzing the impact of multiple impact loads on the regional power grid in the steel plant group is indispensable for ensuring the safe operation of the power system. In view of Qingyuan's iron and steel enterprises' relatively concentrated distribution, heavy load and diverse access voltage levels, this paper studies the effects of active and reactive impacts caused by the impact load of the electric arc furnace on the distribution network of Qingyuan.Based on the results of the existing steady-state power flow calculation and combined with the characteristics of the impact load, the dynamic power flow simulation calculation method for the impact load is proposed with the help of the investment and load shedding in the BPA transient stability program. The BPA transient simulation software is used to simulate the voltage fluctuation caused by load volatility and impact, which proves the influence of the steel plant group on the voltage volatility of the distribution network, and provides a simulation platform and theoretical basis for solving the suppression measures for the power quality problem of the distribution network of the steel plant.
