Preparation Of ZrO₂ Ceramic Cembranes

As a kind of ceramic material,Zirconia has high temperature resistance,mechanical strength,acid and alkali resistance.So it is the preferred material for the preparation of inorganic membrane.This paper use Zirconium as particle powder of inorganic membrane,Preparing Zirconia ceramic membrane by solid particle sintering method and make the characterization of permeability and filtration performance of it.The ZrO₂ particles is preparing by ourselves,Using Malvin particle instrument to measure the particle size and concentration.In order to achieve the preparation conditions,we should pretreate the particles,Mixing particles with solvent deionized water,adding additives and make ultrasonic dispersion.The melting point and the physical and chemical properties of alumina are similar with zirconia,so,?-Al₂O₃ tube was chosen as the support of ZrO₂ceramic membrane in this paper.The effects of film coating time,coating times,liquid solid content,glycerol content,sintering temperature and pre coating effect on the preparation and properties of inorganic membranes are investigated.Using coating liquid to coat in a homemade device,the wet films are drying and heat treatment,so that the internal moisture of wet film and organic compounds are volatiling in high temperature conditions,the ZrO₂ ceramic membrane are forming in the end.The prepared ZrO₂ ceramic membranes were characterized,measuring average pure water flux of ZrO₂ ceramic membrane with deionized water in order to characterize its permeability.Using two kinds of Silica sol to characterize the filtration performance by Measure the water quality.The results showed that the film thickness can be controlled by coating time and coating times.the ZrO₂ film can stable and uniform by controlle the content of solid matter.As a plasticizer,Glycerol can play a fine plasticizing effect.The film can be kept intact by controlling the sintering temperature and pre coating.
