The resource utilization of urban domestic waste is becoming indispensable to the sustainable development of the city in China.The conventional process of urban domestic garbage treatment and disposal,will not only occupy a large amount of land,but also emit a large amount of toxic and harmful substances into the environment,causing serious pollution and endangering human health.Therefore,it is necessary to have a better manner to manage the domestic garbage and analyze their impact on the environmentduring the disposal process.Based on the investigation of the current management situation of urban domestic waste in Hohhot,the life cycle assessment?LCA?of three scenarios?combination of different treatment processes?in investigated in this paper for the treatment of urban domestic waste resources utilization by the simapro software.The contribution rate of environmental pollution and the potential of environmental influence of various types is first calculated for the pollutants discharged from various stages?waste treatment stage,sewage treatment stage,transportation stage,fuel consumption stage and power consumption stage?.The main conclusions are then as follows:?1?Scenario 3?landfill and incineration treatment ratio 1:5?has a lowest total value of environmental influence than scenario 1?landfill and incineration treatment ratio 7:2?and scenario 2?landfill and incineration ratio of approximately 6:11?,Which is optimal and more environmentally friendly;?2?The highest influential stage to environment for Scenario 1?landfill and incineration ratio 7:2?,scenario2?landfill and incineration ratio of approximately 6:11?and scenario 3?landfill and incineration treatment ratio 1:5?is the garbage disposal stage and the highest influential type is global warming,which mainly contributes to the greenhouse effect caused by CO2 and CH4 generated by domestic waste incineration power generation and domestic landfill.?3?Afterimprovingthe environmental potential measures?CO2 capture process?,the potentialof environmental influential for Scenario 3?landfill and incineration treatment ratio 1:5?is still the smallest,showing the most beneficial scenarioto the environment protection.
