In recent years,under the influence of the international situation and the price of raw materials,the steel industry in China has been in a slump and overall losses.Business environment of steel enterprise has entered the "severe winter".Since 2017,the price of oil and raw materials such as iron ore have been raising slowly and Chinese government has taken policies for macroeconomic regulation and control,which help Chinese steel industry get through the difficult period slowly.As a large steel pipe manufacturer,company T has recovered in the gradual recovery of the steel industry.However,the current shortage of raw materials and excessive production costs seriously affect company T.In this situation,how to reduce the cost and improve the quality in production becomes the urgent problem for company T.As an advanced quality improvement and management tool,Six Sigma has been verified by many enterprises worldwide.This thesis introduces the implementation process of Six Sigma management in company T.Using the DMAIC roadmap,the key index of improving product rate of the rolling mill is determined from the analysis of quality cost loss.SIPOC is used to analyze the production process and find out the key process of the billet sawing.PARETO chart is adopted to determine the key equipment that affects the pass-rate of billet cutting.The cause and effect diagram and FMEA matrix are further analyzed to obtain the key input factors that influence the billet cutting and make improvement measures.Through the implementation of the measures,the production process tends to be stable and the production cost is reduced.Finally,we summarize the problems in this project and make the prospects of Six Sigma management implementation in company T.As the first Six Sigma project in company T,this thesis expounds how Six Sigma combined with ISO9001 quality management system in steel industry.It is our hope to help and provide reference for similar problems of steel enterprises.
