As one of the main space carriers of urban and rural water ecological environment,riparian zone not only is tipical of high ecological,social,economic,cultural and other values,but also is the key link for the integration of urban and rural,and the positive effection on promoting urban and rural prosperity.However,the status quo of the riverside ecological environment is not optimistic,many problems such as the lack of ecological protection,the mismatch between ecological functions and external use demands,and the disorder of management and control are gradually exposed as the urbanization process continues.Under the background of new urbanization and land-based spatial planning reform,how to properly protect the riparian zone,establish the internal relationship between ecological protection and functional utilization,and explore the deep-level economic and environmental value-added benefits of the riparian zone are the vital branch of content in the field of urban and rural planning that deserves attention.Compared with the plain city,the shallow hill city is the typical of undulating terrain,rich ecological resources,complicated hydrological processes,and crisscrossed water system.The riparian zone is an important part of the river corridor space system and closely related to urban development,social life and production..Therefore,this paper selects the shallow river-type urban riparian zone as the main research object,and explores the riparian zone ecological protection methods and contents that adapt to the characteristics of the shallow hills and match the internal protection and external utilization.Based on the collection and reading of relevant research literatures and practical cases,field investigation and investigation and the practical study of ‘Tongbai County Urban and Rural Master Planning',this paper summarizes the path and method of ecological protection planning for the urban riparian zone of shallow hill cities: 1)Recogniting the ecological characteristics and natural processes of the riparian zone in the shallow hills based on the situation,and identifying the main objects of ecological protection;2)Based on the urban and rural spline zoning and the characteristics of the riparian zone associated land use,the riparian zone of the planning area was carried out with a zoning system which is constructed and matched with the main contradictions,appeals and protection objects of the corresponding zoning;3)The planning method framework of macro,meso and micro levels is established to form a top-down,close-knit,well-defined ecological protection plan.The system,at the macro level,sets and optimizes the spatial structure system of the riparian zone and overall function,adjusts the associated land use layout at the middle level.And it designs the site in the specific river section at the micro level;4)Finally,this paper puts forward the key content and measures of management and control at the macro,middle and micro level.Besides,based on the control problems encountered in the practice,it puts forward some appropriate modes and suggestions of riparian management.The specific research contents of this paper are as follows:Chapter 1: Taking the riparian zone of the shallow hill cities as the main research object,combined with the current situation of cognition and analysis,the paper puts forward four major problems in this paper including despising system protection,despising process dynamic maintenance,disjoint protection with utilization and protection measures in lack of specificity in.This chapter also shows the related concepts and spatial scope of this research.What is more,this chapter also outlines research priorities,research purposes and implications,and research methods and frameworks.Chapter 2: It analyzes the status quo of the riparian zone,expounds the characterization and causes of the problem.On this basis,the relevant literature review,the planning practice cases and relevant experience are showed to provide a basis of the research.Chapter 3: Taking the Tongbai planning area as an example,the ecological characteristics of the riparian zone in the shallow hilly city are analyzed and summarized to recognize the natural hydrological processes,interference activities and main ecological protection objects which are closely related to the stability of the ecosystem are identified.And then,the riparian zone ecological protection planning orientation is proposed to stimulate the riparian zone value,match the protection and utilization,and establish a multi-level ecological protection system.Chapter 4,5,6: It is the core chapter of this paper.The riparian zone ecological protection planning method system of shallow hill cities is constructed by zoning system construction,matching ecological protection object and target,setting overall function and structure and designing associated land use layout and site space.Chapter 4: Planning areas are firstly divided according to the land use characteristics of the riparian zone,and on this basis,the main ecological protection objects and targets under each sub-area are defined.At the same time,the overall spatial pattern system was optimized,including the construction of its own structural system,the interconnection of water and green networks,and the repair and optimization of the gap,the recovery of natural surface runoff,and the organization of urban catchment units.And the function of the riparian zone was set at the macro level.Chapter 5: Firstly,the land use layout of the riparian zone of each sub-area adjusts is adjusted combined the characteristics of division and appeal at the meso level according to the relationship between ecological protection and land use compatibility.Secondly,at the micro level,it is proposed that the ecological design and optimization of the spatial design of the river section should be carried out through four layers including vegetation allocation,revetment form,ecological maintenance facilities and ecological process of drainage process.And specific site reconstruction and design should be carried out.Chapter 6: It firstly clarifies the contents and measures of riverside ecological protection in the master planning,control detailed planning and constructive detailed planning.Secondly,a riparian management and implementation model based on the basin unit is constructed to ensure the implementation of the plan and improve the ecological protection efficiency.
