Research On Multifunctional Children’s Furniture Design Based On Small Apartment

With the rapid development of the economy,the increasing population of China has led to a continuous rise in housing prices,which has indirectly increased the pressure on younger generation buyers.In order to alleviate the pressure,small-sized houses have become the target of young people’s purchase.In addition,children are an indispensable member of every family.Especially after the second-child policy is liberalized,there are two children in each family.Parents want to create a good living environment for their children and meet their daily lives.The various needs,will be placed in a large number of children’s furniture,which creates a contradiction between limited residential space and a large number of children’s furniture.Although there are some multifunctional children’s furniture on the market,they combine the functions of several functions together in a modular,folding and retractable way to meet the different needs of children,so as to reduce the number of children’s furniture purchases,but most of these designs are adopted.It is a miniature version of adult furniture,without considering the child’s physical and mental development,and lacking the aesthetic and emotional design of contemporary young people in the overall design.Based on these factors,a theoretical and practical study of the current small-sized residential children’s furniture is very necessary.In this paper,the author is based on the contradiction between the limited living space of today’s society and the essential children’s furniture in the family.The research analyzes the application of ergonomics and emotional design in children’s furniture,and the theory of multifunctional children’s furniture design.On the basis of this,a comprehensive market research and analysis of small-sized children’s furniture is carried out,and the current situation of small-sized children’s furniture market and the consumption characteristics of major consumer groups are obtained.Based on the analysis of the problems existing in small-sized children’s furniture and the analysis of excellent cases,combined with the study of relevant theories,it is proposed to design a children’s furniture that integrates emotion,beauty,multi-function and economy.The author has learned about the current theoretical research status of children’s furniture at home and abroad through online surveys,data enquiries,academic readings,etc.It is found that the current academic design of small-sized residential children’s furniture has not yet formed a systematic theoretical study.Therefore,based on therelevant theoretical research and overview of the concept of small-sized houses and children’s furniture,this paper analyzes consumer characteristics,market status,development trends and excellent cases through design and research,and explores a suitable children’s furniture for small-sized residential houses.The design principle finally designed a multifunctional children’s furniture that can effectively utilize the small-sized space and meet the characteristics of the current consumer group and the physiological characteristics of children.
