Epoxy Resin(EP)is one of the most important thermosetting resin substrates.Due to its excellent chemical and corrosion resistance,excellent adhesion,low shrinkage and low price,it is often used in demanding applications.While the epoxy resins themselves are brittle,which makes them susceptible to microcracking during use,which limits their application.In recent years,extensive research has been conducted on the ductility of epoxy resins,and toughened epoxy resins such as rubber,thermoplastics,and inorganic particles can be used.The intensification of the epoxy resin can be enhanced by the incorporation of various nanoparticles,and the higher surface area to volume ratio of graphene makes it more advantageous to improve the mecha nical,electrical,thermal and barrier properties of the polymer matrix.Carbon nanotubes have good mechanical properties and can be composited with polymer matrices.Its composites exhibit good strength,fatigue resistance and homogeneity.In this paper,a composite material is prepared by adding graphene and carbon nanotubes to an epoxy resin.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)In order to improve the performance of graphene and epoxy resin composites,nanographene is better dispersed in epoxy resin matrix.After modifying the surface of the nanographene with a silane coupling agent((?-methacryloxypropyltrimethyl)Oxysilane,KH-570),to prepared a composite material from graphene and epoxy resin.The results of the study are as follows: The modified graphene(KH-GE)does not affect the thermal stability of the epoxy resin.The thermal stability of the composites with KH-GE and EP increased slightly compared to pure EP.Compared with EP,whether before or after modifying graphene,as the GE content increases,the impact strength,fracture toughness and flexural strength of the composites of GE and EP are further increased.SEM images show that the fracture surface of KH-GE/EP composites and GE and EP composites is rougher than pure EP.In summary,GE/KH-GE has a toughening effect on EP without affecting the mechanical properties of EP.(2)A composite material is prepared by adding graphene and carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs-OH)to an epoxy resin.When GE reaches 0.25 wt% of EP,the impact strength,fracture toughness and flexural strength of the composites are maximized.Therefore,in this study,GE accounted for 0.25 wt% of the content in EP,and explored the content of filled carbon nanotubes in order to improve the performance of GE/ MWCNTs-OH and EP composites.The results of the study are as follows: The hermal stability of the(GE/KH-GE)/MWCNTs-OH/EPcomposites was approximately unchanged from the thermal stability of the(0.25 wt% GE)/EP composite.When the GE content is 0.25 wt%,the impact strength,fracture toughness and flexural strength of the(GE/KH-GE)/ MWCNTs-OH/EP composites increase as the content of MWCNTs-OH increases.SEM images show that the fracture surface of the KH-GE/MWCNTs-OH/EP composite and the GE/MWCNTs-OH/EP composite is rougher than the 0.25 wt% GE/EP.In summary,GE/KH-GE and MWCNTs-OH have synergistic toughening effect on EP without affecting the mechanical properties of EP.
