Water-based ink is suitable for packaging and printing industry with high safety and hygiene requirements because of its less pollution and low degree of harm to human body.It has attracted wide attention in recent years.The related characteristics of pigment are important factors affecting the production of water-based ink.In order to realize water based ink instead of oil-type ink,it is necessary to optimize the applicability of the pigment in water-based ink.Due to its high stability,non-toxic and odorless,small particles,high whiteness,rutile nano titanium dioxide is often used as white pigment of water-based ink.However,the surface untreated rutile titanium dioxide is easily reunited in water medium and has photocatalytic activity.Therefore,the surface of TiO2 powders need coating modification to enhance the dispersion and the light,weather resistance of the external environment when it used in water-based ink.This paper attempts to modify the surface of rutile nano titanium dioxide.Studying the coating results under different coating methods and coating process parameters.The paper also tried to synthesize the hydrophilic and dispersible rutile nano titanium dioxide by solvothermal method,and to investigate its application in water based ink.The main conclusions of the full text are as follows:(1)The rutile nano-TiO2 was enveloped by different coating methods and characterized by transmission electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,UV-visible spectrophotometer and Zeta potential meter.The results showed that layer by layer coating method was more uniform than mixed coating method.Compared with the water bath layer-by-layer coating method,aluminum layer is closer to the silicon layer coating by hydrothermal treatment.The absorbency of coated nanopowders in the UV absorption zone decreased after coating modification,the products through layer-by-layer coating method have a better UV-shielding effect than through the mixed coating method.Water bath and hydrothermal coating method has no obvious effect on light fastness.Application of the layer by layer coating product to water-based ink,ink film whiteness is 95.46%,glossnness is 45.1%,hiding power is 11.5g/m2,water resistance is better,the ink layer is not stripped.(2)On the basis of researching the optimal coating method of TiO2,the best technique of layer-by-layer coating method of TiO2 was explored.The coated nano-powders were analyzed by Zeta potential,transmission electron microscopy and X-ray fluorescence spectrometer.The optimal pH of the silicon coating was 8,the optimum pH of the aluminum coating was 9,the coating temperature was 80?,the coating time was 90min,and the coating amount was 3.5%of TiO2.After coating,the product was formulated into the water-based ink,and then,the ink film is brushed onto the substrate.The ink film has excellent performance.The whiteness value is 95.86%,The glossiness is 54%and the hiding power is 11.62g/m2.Water resistance of ink film is better,and the resistance to peeling is higher.(3)Using PEG 400 as a solvent and introducing Sn4+,a rutile nano-TiO2 was prepared by solvothermal method under acidic conditions.The prepared powders were characterized by X-ray diffractometer,X-ray photoelectron spectrometer,scanning electron microscope,Zeta potential meter,UV-visible-near infrared spectrophotometer and other instruments.The results show that the incorporation of 5mol%Sn4+can promote the formation of rutile nano-TiO2,reduce the temperature of TiO2 to rutile conversion,increase the crystallinity;and the particle size distribution of the prepared powder is narrow.The light response range of the powders does not change,the absorbance in the ultraviolet light region is lower than that before the doping,and the lightfastness is better.The prepared nano-powders formulated into water-based ink and applied to a plastic film.Measured the performance of the ink film,the whiteness is 94.6%,glossness is 57%,hiding power is 10.8g/m2,The water resistance of the film is not good,but the peeling resistance is better.
