Ionic Polymer Metal Composite materials have a sandwich structure,which is the electrode layer-the substrate layer-the electrode layer,and it can bending under a voltage of less than 10 V.In the present study,the flaky IPMC is the most typical structure.However,as to the IPMC material be in-depth study,on the one hand,the bending is difficult to meet the demand,which is the demand of application,on the other hannd two electrode layer need good symmetry,it brought difficulties for IPMC electrode pattern design.Aiming at this problem,this paper designs an Ionic polymer with single-layered electrodes(IPSE).It is composed of the electrode layer-the substrate layer-the encapsulation layer,wherein the electrode layer has gaps,and it can produce S-shaped deformation under excitation.This paper mainly studies the material preparation,the law of performance influence and the application.First of all,electroless plating is combined with mask method/surface process to manufacture IPSE.The key of the mask method is to choose the mask material,and the experiment proves that the best masking effect is 3M4910 VHB tape.Laser engraving and knife cutting are used in the surface process.The experimental results show that laser engraving is suitable for making small electrode gap(<0.5mm),knife cutting is suitable for making large electrode gap(>0.5mm).Then,the influence factors and laws of the deformation of IPSE are investigated.Structural dimensions(length,width and electrode gap)and external excitation(amplitude and frequency of voltage)will affect deformation.The orthogonal experiment shows that when the length is 50 mm,the width is 5mm,and the electrode gap is 1.5mm,the deformation performance is the best.In a certain range,under the sine wave voltage,the deformation displacement of the single-layer electrode type IPMC material increases with the increase of the voltage amplitude,and then increases with the increase of the voltage frequency.Finally,some flexible actuators and bionic devices are designed based on IPSE.Among them,the weight lifting drive can lift the weight of 135.8% of its weight by 15mm;The shrinkage rate of linear actuator can reach 15.6%;Rotating drive can turn 34°,speed can reach 11.3°/s;Bionic flowers can bloom rapidly in 1min;The bionic insect can descend to 19.09mm/min in the slope environment of 10°.In this paper,research on the development of bionic robot,simplify the structure of the flexible mechanical design has great application value,to promote its development in the field of flexible mechanical provides important reference basis.
