Compared with inorganic glass, polymer materials are lightweight, have good impact resistance, and are easy to dye and process. In recent years, due to the rapid development of optoelectronic device manufacturing technology, the application of high refractive index polymers in the manufacture of optoelectronic devices is becoming more and more important.Polymer materials with high refractive index and high Abbe number are used in lenses, prisms and waveguide materials. It has a wide range of applications. In this paper, two kinds of methods are used to prepare sulfur-containing high refractive resin. The click chemical reaction of mercaptan and acrylate was used to obtain high refractive index polymer and the sulfur-containing photocurable high refractive index monomers were synthesized by using mercaptan. The acrylic acid modified zirconia particles which can easily dispersed in an organic system were synthesized. The details are as follows:(1)Exploring the optimal conditions for the reaction of thiol-(meth)acrylate,it was found that acrylate has better performance than methacrylate in the reaction, and the polymer formed under self-initiating and oxygen-free conditions has better performance.A polymer coating having a refractive index of 1.562 was obtained.(2)Acrylic acid(AA)-modified zirconia particles with good solubility and dispersibility in the reaction system were synthesized, and, finally an organic-inorganic hybrid materials having refractive index of 1.649 and transmittance of 85%was obtained.(3)Four high refractive index photocurable monomers were obtained by the reaction of two types thiols with isocyanate ethyl acrylate and methacryloyl chloride, respectively. The two products synthesized by 4-Mercaptomethyl-3,6-dithia-l,8-octanedithiol(MDO)are liquid at normal temperature and can be used to solvent-free photopolymerization with refractive index of 1.587 and 1.605 and birefringence of 0.0020 and 0.0006,respectively.
