Research On The International Competitiveness Of Russian Steel Industry

As an integral part of the international steel market,Russian steel companies have been forced to adapt to the changing global situation in order to remain competitive.The success of the development of the steel industry directly affects the development of science and technology in other economic fields.Russian steel companies have gained a competitive edge due to their abundant natural resources and geographical diversity in production.At the same time,Russian steel producers inherited the manufacturing techniques and equipment from the Soviet era,and despite recent modernization,they still need further investment.But there are also some unresolved issues,for this reason,the study of the competitiveness of the Russian steel industry is of great practical significance.This paper takes the Russian steel industry as the analysis object and provides reference for the development of the Russian steel industry through the analysis of the competitiveness of China's steel industry.First of all,the status quo of the Russian steel industry was analyzed.Through the analysis of the status quo,it can be solved that the output of the Russian steel industry is behind the Chinese steel industry several times.Russia's domestic market has much less steel consumption than China.Most of Russia's steel exports are low value-added products.In addition,the data needed for comparative analysis of international competitiveness was received through the analysis of the status quo.Secondly,in the process of competitiveness analysis,five competitiveness indicators were calculated.According to these indicators,it can be found that the Russian steel industry has higher competition,but the industrial competition potential is low.Third,after analyzing the causes of low competitiveness,five major problems were identified.These include a small amount of investment in fixed assets,old equipment in the enterprise,low labor productivity compared to China,low proportion of high value-added steel and unfavorable economic conditions in the Russian market.Subsequently,the experience of foreign steel producers in the development of the steel industry was analyzed.On the basis of analyzing the main problems of the backwardness of the Russian steel industry,combined with foreign experience,it puts forward proposals to improve the competitiveness of the Russian steel industry.In the final part of the study,the current state of the Russian steel industry,the main problems of the industry and the measures needed to improve the competitiveness of the Russian steel industry were put forward.
