In this project,it was a kind of cyclohexyl epoxy-functionalized silsesquioxane to be synthesized and characterized first,and then it was utilized to modify the silicone coating in combination with other epoxy resins of different structures.The epoxy resins used here included the aliphatic type and silsesquioxane type.At the same time,glycidyl epoxy group and cyclohexyl epoxy group were chosen for comparison.By means of the pre-polymerization reaction between epoxy resins and an amino silane coupling agent,the prepolymers were then used to modify the silicone coating.The obtained coating showed the following characteristics:strong adhesion,great heat-resistance,high thermal stability and chemical resistance.The introduced cubic structure of silsesquioxane and cyclohexyl epoxy group therein played a significant role.In the next chapters,the substrate for the silicone coating was substituted from methyl-phenyl siloxane for dimethyl siloxane considering the cost issue.To reach an equilibrium between performance and cost,the best performing cyclohexyl epoxy functionalized silsesquioxane was further used to modify dimethyl silicone coating in conjunction with fillers and additives.Finally,a kind of dimethyl silicone coating with performance no less than the methyl-phenyl one but lower in cost was acquired.
