Virtual reality technology has made rapid progress with the continuous development of computer hardware and software equipment in global.In recent years,the application of virtual reality technology was more and more extensive in oil field.It has become the main trend to develop visual oil field drilling engineering simulation system by using this technology.In this paper,virtual reality technology is used to carry out the visualization simulation of field drilling engineering.A virtual drilling engineering simulation system based on VR is developed and implemented.Through the comprehensive analysis of the development status of virtual reality technology in the oil industry at home and abroad,this paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of its application.Then,the 3ds Max software is determined to build the simulation model of drilling engineering scene,and the mapping processing is carried out with the help of Photo Shop.Then the material rendering processing is performed by using Substance Painter(SP)software and Vray renderer.Virtual drilling engineering simulation system is developed on Unity 3D platform.Finally,the immersive interaction of virtual reality system is realized by HTC Vive hardware devices.1st.The Three-dimensional simulation model of drilling engineering scene is built by using 3ds Max software.Through the use of PS,SP and Vray and other tools for mapping,rendering and other optimization processing.It makes the simulation model more realistic.In the Unity project,the wellsite environment model is made,and the simulation model is imported.Besides,collision body,animation and fluid effect are added,which can truly restore the field scene of the drilling project.2nd.More System interaction interfaces are designed by UGUI system.The whole system includes designing and realizing the interactive operation of drilling field roaming system,lifting system and rotating system.For circulation system,fluid animation is implemented using Obi Fluid plug-ins so that it can be reproduced realistically.Through the use of C#language,the codes of each functional modules are written in order to realize the control of each interactive interfaces.Finally,the resources are integrated and the simulation system is generated.3rd.The cooperation between Unity 3D software and HTC Vive hardware equipment are realized by means of SteamVR plug-in.Therefore,the detection and control of head-to-head display,handle controller,locator and other equipments can be realized in the project.The software and hardware are combined to build a realistic scene with visualization effect.Then,it realizes interactive control of the immersive virtual drilling engineering simulation system.The developed system makes full use of the immersion characteristics of virtual reality technology.It can create a safe and realistic interactive environment for well controllers.And it provides guarantee for effective skill learning and training.Thus it is very useful to improve training efficiency and save training cost.
