During the construction of ecological civilization, green agricultural development is an inherent requirement for the development of modern agriculture. The agricultural green total factor productivity is an important indicator of agricultural green economic growth. In the past, extensive agricultural management methods caused excessive investment in agricultural chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides, causing serious damage to the ecological environment. Therefore, the capitalization of scarce ecological resources is an inevitable trend, which also helps the green development of agriculture. In this context, the analysis of the spatiotemporal evolution and influencing factors of China’s agricultural green total factor productivity from the perspective of ecological capital has important practical significance for China’s agricultural green development. This article takes ecological capital as the perspective, and takes China’s agriculture as the research object.Ecological capital theory, economic growth theory, sustainable development theory, and environmental Kuznets are the theoretical foundations.First, this article analyzes the current status of China’s agricultural development.Second, based on the data of 31 provinces in China from 2009 to 2018,based on the perspective of ecological capital,a measurement index system for agricultural green total factor productivity was constructed. At the same time, the global reference Malmquist-Luenberger index based on the SBM directional distance function was used to calculate China’s total factor productivity of agriculture in each province, and its temporal characteristics and spatial differences are analyzed. The analysis results show that China’s agricultural green total factor productivity generally shows a volatile growth trend, and there are differences between regions.Based on the perspective of ecological capital, this paper divides the country into high-carbon regions,medium-carbon regions, and low-carbon regions according to carbon intensity.Low-carbon regions have the fastest growth in agricultural green total factor productivity, followed by medium-carbon regions and high-carbon regions.Subsequently, the panel data model was used to analyze the influencing factors of China’s agricultural green total factor productivity. The results show that the level of agricultural economic development and the intensity of scientific and technological inputs have a significant promotion effect on the total green agricultural factors. The level of urbanization development has a significant inhibitory effect on the total green agricultural productivity. And the agricultural industrial structure and the intensity of environmental regulations have no significant negative effect on agricultural green total factor productivity. Finally, this article proposes countermeasures to promote the improvement of China’s agricultural green total factor productivity. These include the establishment and improvement of agricultural ecological compensation mechanisms;the promotion of the optimization of the agricultural industrial structure;the strengthening of the city’s role in radiating agriculture;the continuous optimization of the agricultural science and technology resource allocation structure;and the strengthening of environmental regulation.
