The establishment of Kazakhstan as one of the world's oil powers at the present stage is conditioned by the historical prerequisites with a history of more than 120 years since the first well became operational.Energy sector in Kazakhstan is the main source of monetary and financial stability.The development of the energy sector has had a huge impact on political and social aspects of life in Kazakhstan,as well as on the capacity-building of many other spheres of economy and public life.The National Company "KazMunayGas"(KMG)is a state-owned enterprise of Kazakhstan.It was established in 2002 and,nowadays,it includes 23 offshore and onshore oilfields projects and is considered as the major investor company in Kazakhstan which is operating for more than 180 subsidiaries in exploration.production.transportation and processing hydrocarbons and generating approximmately more than $1 billion to the country's budget annually.KMG's most promising oil export destinations are the Commonwealth Independent States,countries in Central Asia and some countries of the Baltic region.The Study is dedicated to analyze major challenge that KMG is experiencing at present and to identify the factors that can improve and ensure maximum efficiency of' corporate governance and increase the company's efficiency,expansion and strengthening brand at the international market.The research on the development of KMG's international path is mainly provided through analysis and discussion of the core competitiveness theory,comparative advantage theory.evaluation and risk analysis based on SWOT and PEST analysis.The research consists of five chapters:The first chapter reviews the relevance and importance of the study,introduces the methodology of the study and describes the relevant research methods;Chapter 2 is devoted to the theoretical aspects of competitiveness of an enterprise,describes the main characteristics and features of competitiveness by analyzing different scientific views and perspectives,and reveals KMG's competitiveness through the comparative advantages theory and the core competitiveness theory.Chapter 3 introduces the KMG operating system.its structure and main activities for ensuring strategic directions in operating including a description and analysis of facilitating and hindering factors of operational activities of the company;different data is collected while studying technological innovations on oil and gas fields,its development and implementation:in Chapter 4 there is a comprehensive analysis of KMG's operational activities aimed at revealing internal and external factors positively or negatively affecting the achievement of the current operational status of the company through the use of SWOT analysis and PEST analysis;the final Chapter examines target programs on expansion and renovation of production capacities at an operating oil and gas extraction and active exploration of new fields.analyzes investments' programs and beneficial investment climate for investors and the level of efficiency of building long-term,mutually beneficial relationships with clients based on adherence to the highest standards of management.discusses the analysis of improving its resource base,process and environmental safety standards.and transportation infrastructure.The KMG's values in creating an enabling environment through national capacity-building.ensuring maximum activities towards advance human development and increase overall capacity development.Considering development and forward-looking principles for the KMG sustainable development and competitiveness this research outlines strategies for development and position of the company in world energy industry arena for the further development at the international level in the new economic era.
