IB is a pre-university course,which is recognized by the world's official educational organizations as an education program with high professional standards.It aims to cultivate high-end cultural talents with high professional quality.The IBDP syllabus respects the educational policies of each country and basically meets the basic requirements of each country's curriculum for its students.This course has absorbed the essence of many national education systems,and then transformed into the high-quality teaching mode of the course itself,which is recognized by the world's top universities.Because IB is independent from the government and national system,and has different ideas and characteristics from Chinese education,it is gradually adopted by our education system to train mobile talents.In this context,the understanding and promotion of IBDP international curriculum,especially the study of its schooling system and teaching materials,should become the research direction of educational researchers in China.However,throughout the research field of curriculum in China,there are not many researches on this course.Most of the research contents are limited to the relatively simple aspects such as IBDP curriculum setting and curriculum content introduction.Research on IBDP course materials is also limited.However,the research on IBDP course materials,especially on the column setting in the textbooks,is very rare.Therefore,in-depth and detailed research should be carried out on IBDP courses,especially the research on the column setting of IB course materials,which is of profound significance for the development and implementation of IB courses in China.In-depth and detailed research on foreign textbooks can provide a rich theoretical basis and development direction for the compilation of Chinese textbooks.Seize the light spot this teaching material research,this paper analyze the IBDP chemistry teaching material carefully,knowledge module settings in the textbooks as the main direction.Choose the ‘Nature of science' to carry on the detailed analysis and research,to fill the blank in the research of our country for foreign teaching material detailed,expect to make great contributions to China's education reform.According to the research status of IBDP courses by domestic and foreign education scholars,this paper briefly points out the blank points in the research of IBDP courses in China,and puts forward the content and methods on this basis.Then,the introduction of IB courses,IBDP courses,IBDP chemistry courses and ‘Nature of Science' column.According to ‘Nature of science',the different knowledge content,to be subdivided into ‘science myth',‘scientific view',‘scientific method',‘scientific principles' and ‘social science' five columns.Then analyze each of these five columns qualitative.Finally,based on the 2014 IB syllabus and other documents,the function of the column was evaluated,and the conclusion was drawn that the column setting of "nature of science" reflected "three more,two range,one wide",that is,"more types,more contents,more pictures","explanatory texts and representative pictures are range",and "widely knowledge".Through the enlightenment to the compilation of the chemistry teaching material in People's education press from the following three aspects:Firstly,in terms of the structure of teaching materials,the ‘tree' structure is adopted for the arrangement.Secondly,in terms of the selection of knowledge content,a large part of the knowledge selected in the textbook involves the knowledge content of other disciplines related to chemistry,not just the basic subject knowledge.Thirdly,on the selection of textbook illustrations,we should draw widely,increase the interest and innovation.Finally,in view of the problems and difficulties in this research,as well as the shortcomings of this research.
