This paper is based on the micro-behaviors of farmers, taking 416 farmers surveyed in Yuanzhou District,Guyuan,Ningxia as the research object, based on the DFID sustainable livelihood analysis framework, with the help of principal component analysis, cluster analysis and logistic Regression models and other methods to reveal the livelihood status of the rural poor in Yuanzhou District, identify the types of poor people's livelihoods in Guyuan, describe the behavioral characteristics of the poor in Guyuan, determine the constraints and sensitivities that affect the livelihoods of farmers in Guyuan The livelihoods of 104 households in Huyi District,Xi'an City,Shaanxi Province were compared to try to reveal the main factors restricting Yuanzhou District from getting rid of poverty. The findings are as follows:(1)According to the status of livelihood capital, the livelihood behaviors of poor farmers in Guyuan can be divided into four categories:subsidized farmers,Part-time farmers mainly engaged in work,cultivation-planting farmers, and farming-oriented farmers; However, the livelihood behavior of farmers in Guyuan area is mainly part-time farmers based on work, accounting for 44.3%of the poor farmers.(2)There are large differences in the stocks of livelihood assets of different types of farmers. The total assets of farmers' livelihoods are:Subsidized.farmers(0.891)<Cultivation-planting farmers(1.010)<Part-time farmers mainly engaged in work(1.025)<Farming-oriented farmers(1.175)<mixed farming households(1.264).(3)The key livelihood capital chosen by poor households' livelihood strategies differs among different types of farmers. The constraints of subsidized farmers are labor capacity, livestock ownership, number of electrical appliances, and per capita labor income,of which labor capacity is the most sensitive; The restrictive factors of Part-time farmers mainly engaged in work are per capita planting area, transportation, leadership potential and credit opportunities,of which credit opportunities and leadership potential are the most sensitive; The constraints of cultivation planting farmers are water resources, transportation, per capita education, distance from urban areas, livestock ownership and leadership potential, and the height of transportation is the highest; The restrictive factors of farming-oriented farmers are per capita education level, means of transportation, amount of insurance, loan amount and labor income per capita. In the process of poverty alleviation, poverty alleviation strategies should be implemented for farmers based on the constraints of different types of farmers, with emphasis on the implementation of highly sensitive factors.(4)There are big differences in the livelihood endowments of poor farmers in Yuanzhou District and those in Huyi District. To help poor farmers get out of poverty as soon as possible, they must take measures to alleviate poverty from three aspects:the personal qualities of the farmers, tangible assets, transportation and location. In a word, this paper can draw a conclusion that when implementing poverty alleviation measures, policy makers should first determine different types of poverty-stricken people, and then apply different types of policies and measures to different types of poverty-stricken people with the goal of maximum poverty alleviation effect,so as to make the poverty-stricken people out of poverty accurately and effectively.
