Metal wire products have a wide range of applications and play an important role in human life as well as the national economy.In recent years,with the increasing demands for wires in my country,the quality requirements have become higher and higher.Need to constantly improve production technology to produce wire products that meet national needs.Therefore,it is of practical significance to study the production technology and equipment for manufacturing metal wires.This article takes copper and aluminum alloy wire as the research object,and studies the twisting and forming process of the wire.First of all,a metal wire twisting and forming device was designed,and a three-dimensional finite element model was established.Secondly,the effects of different length wires,single reduction,forming speed and forming temperature was simulated and analyzed by DEFORM-3D software.Finally,the twisting and forming test was carried out on the wire at different temperatures,and the influence of the twisting test on the copper wire was studied from the microstructure and mechanical properties.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)The numerical simulation model was established.Forming results and flow behavior of the wire under different single reductions were analyzed.And the displacement,speed,stress as well as strain were studied with the different wire length,twisting speed and forming temperature.The results show that when the single reduction is 0.05 mm,the wire forming effect is better;when temperature changed,the higher the selected temperature,the greater the wire extension and the maximum equivalent strain are,and the smaller the maximum equivalent stress is.(2)By analyzing the material flow,speed change,stress and strain distribution as well as the forming load of the 7075 aluminum alloy wire during the twisting process,and comparing the simulation results of the copper and the aluminum,it can be found that the changes in displacement,velocity,stress and strain of aluminum alloy wire show a basically consistent change trend with the copper one.(3)The twisting test of T2 copper wire was carried out at different temperatures,and the mechanical properties such as tensile strength,yield strength,elongation were analyzed.The effect of the twisting process on the microstructure microstructures of T2 copper under different twisting temperatures were observed and studied through an optical microscope.The results indicate that during the forming process,plastic deformation occurs first on the outside of the wire,and as the twisting temperature increases,the tensile strength and yield strength increase first and then decrease.
