During the cutting process of hard-to-machine materials, the chemical reactivity of hard-to-machine materials with toolmaterials and their consequent welding by adhesion onto the tool-chip interface on the rake face leads to excessive cutting force, and high temperatures at the cutting interfaces during machining. These properties result in higher tool wear rates which adversely affects tool life and limits the processing efficiency of the material during machining. For cutting tools, the experimental observations and theoretical calculations have shown that the tool's surface topography had a significant impact on tribological performanceto improve their friction and wear behavior during machining. In addition, the use of coolant could help convert internal friction to external friction and improve the existence of chip adhesion and internal friction near the edge of the blade.Textured-tools have potentials to improve the cooling effect and reduce the temperature of the cutting zone, consequently increasing the durability of the tool. Therefore, this paper focuses on the problem of low durability of Ti-6Al-4V machining tools in the engineering world, and conducts basic research on the type and parameters of micro-texture.The main research work includes:?1?Three different surface micro-textures?straight texture, cross straight texture, and dot textures?were designed.Through the transient structural module of Ansys Workbench,surface-surface contact Archard Wear Model of three different micro-textured was established.According to its calculation and analysis of the friction and wear process, the effect of the texture geometry was assessed in terms of surface pressure, stress and the amount of friction pair wear.?2?Three different surface micro-textures?straight texture, cross straight texture, and dot textures?were processed on the YG8 cemented carbide surface. At the same time,2%nano WS2 particles and the total mass 3%nano WS2/Cu particles were added to the CTY-B lubricant oil.The sliding tests were performed against Gcr15 steel balls in the ambient air. Results show that the dot pit texture can reduce the friction coefficient, but the straight texture and cross straight texture increased the friction coefficient. The nano-WS2/Cu lubricant oil was more effectively than the nano-WS2 lubricant oil in reducing the friction coefficient by 3-7%,and the material removal of the Gcr15 steel balls has also been reduced.?3?Dot textures with different spacings were fabricated on the surface of YG8cemented carbide tools through the single-point diamond indentation method, and composite nano-WS2/Cu lubricating oil was prepared.Orthogonal cutting of Ti-6Al-4V were carried out under dry cutting and minimal quantity lubricated?MQL?conditions. The results show that the dot texture improved the tool adhesion, and reduce cutting forces, friction coefficient, the deformed chip thickness at low speeds of under dry cutting conditions. In addition, the dot texture effectively improved the lubrication conditions in machining titanium alloys under the MQL conditions. The DT-100 tool was more effective in improving the lubrication conditions.
