Research On The Traditional Art Characteristics And Contemporary Reconstruction Of Huangmei Cross-Stitch

Huangmei cross-stitch is a traditional handicraft with distinct regional cultural characteristics in Chu area of Hubei Province.The shape structure,color application and theme implication of the cross-stitch pattern not only fully demonstrate the local women's intelligence and the positive life vision of the people,but also reflect the rich and varied regional culture of China.However,since the 1990 s,a large number of local craftsmen have lost their jobs,and the cross-stitch enterprises have closed down because of the shortage of artists,so the cross-stitch culture is on the verge of losing its heritage.In 2006,Huangmei cross-stitch was selected as the first batch of non-material cultural catalogue.In order to save the dying Huangmei cross-stitch culture,the government,universities and enterprises began to take a series of measures to protect and inherit Huangmei cross-stitch.The innovation of this subject lies in the author's analysis of the characteristics of traditional Huangmei cross-stitch pattern design from the perspective of design science,and how to reconstruct the contemporary cross-stitch culture according to the emerging social innovative design,community building design and design art involved in rural construction.This research is based on the pictures and historical data of cross-stitch products collected by the author through long-term field investigation.Through understanding the historical origin of the development of cross-stitch,the location of cross-stitch,the process of cross-stitch and the similarities and differences between Huangmei cross-stitch and Huayao cross-stitch,Wangjiang cross-stitch and the cross-stitch,the design rules of Huangmei cross-stitch are summarized from multiple dimensions.Although the current research on Huangmei cross-stitch involves traditional artistic features,the research on traditional features of cross-stitch patterns is not clear enough.Various studies have not pointed out the basic rules of the pattern modeling structure of cross-stitch scarves,and the color of Huangmei cross-stitch is more diverse and gorgeous than that of other places,which has distinct regional cultural characteristics.In the study,the author also found that the current classification of Huangmei cross-stitch theme only stays in the image characteristics of the theme,and does not classify reasonably from the ideographic level.Based on the research foundation and shortcomings of predecessors,and according to 228 precious samples of cross-stitch products collected from fieldinvestigation,the author makes a detailed and in-depth analysis of the traditional artistic features of Huangmei cross-stitch,such as its shape structure,color application and theme implication,and clarifies the internal relationship between cross-stitch art and its local cultural views.Secondly,the author combines the popular theories of community building and social innovation at home and abroad,analyses the contemporary reconstruction of Huangmei cross-stitch,and explores how to realize the transformation of its contemporary value from heritage to resources through the intervention of design art,so as to promote the overall construction of local community in the fields of industry,society,environment and culture.
