According to the data issued by relevant authorities at home and abroad,the proportion of natural gas in primary energy consumption has been increasing in recent years.However,due to its own properties,it is very easy to cause a fire and explosion accident when forming explosive premixed gas with air under certain conditions,these accidents may result in serious casualties and property losses.Therefore,the study of natural gas-related explosion characteristics has become the current focus.Natural gas is a mixture,its composition is varying with the different mining locations and seasons,while the lowest methane content is 55%,and the remaining components are ethane and other hydrocarbons,in addition,the considerable amount of ethane,propane,etc.can affect the explosion of methane.Therefore,in order to get the relative explosion characteristics of natural gas more accurately,a mixed gas of methane and ethane was selected as the research object.This paper mainly used the comparative analysis method of theoretical analysis,experimental research and numerical simulation.Experiments were systematically performed in a standard 20-L spherical vessel,and the experiments were conducted at different initial pressure(0.1MPa~0.2MPa),initial temperature(25 ? ~125 ?)and the inert substance concentration(0~20%).The parameters included the maximum explosion pressure,the maximum rates of pressure rise.And the simulation research was similar to the experiment,but the simulation's measuring range of initial pressure and temperature was wider than experiment,the initial condition was initial pressure(0.1Mpa~2.0MPa),initial temperature(-10?~200?).And the research parameters included the maximum explosion pressure,explosion temperature,the maximum explosion pressure arrival time.At the same time the experimental results and simulation results were compared to verify and guide.The results showed that the explosion risk of the mixture was increased by the addition of ethane at the same experimental conditions.The maximum explosion pressure and rates of pressure rise raised gradually with the increase of initial pressure.With the increase of initial temperature,the maximum explosion pressure of mixture decreased gradually and maximum explosion pressure arrival time was also decreased,but the maximum rates of pressure rise was almost constant.The maximum explosion pressure and rates of pressure rise decreased with the increase volume fraction of inert substance in the mixture,but the time reached to maximum pressure was increased.And the explosion suppression result of carbon dioxide was better than the nitrogen.There was an error between the experimental results and the simulated results,but the error was within the normal range,it can be considered that the experimental results was consistent with the simulation results.Through this study,the related combustion parameters of methane/ethane mixture are obtained.The related research results fill the blank of the related parameters of mixed gas combustion,which is a great significance for safety production and explosion suppression of natural gas.
