Since the reform and opening up 40 years ago,the speed of development of China's economy has been maintained at a relatively high level, and the living standards of the people have also been greatly improved. However, behind the rapid growth of China's total economy is the massive consumption of resources and energy,as well as a series of ecological problems, which limits the stable and healthy development of the economy to a great extent. How to alleviate the contradiction among population, resources and energy and environment while promoting the stable development of economy, and how to realize the coordinated development of economic environment has become an urgent problem to be solved by all countries. At present, the Internet,as a new engine to promote the economic and social development of China as a whole,is in a key position in the field of modern economy.Promoting the transformation of economic development mode and reducing the degree of environmental pollution play an important role.Scholars at home and abroad have long been concerned about the impact of the development of the Internet on energy consumption, but there are relatively few studies on the impact of the Internet on environmental pollution. In particular, there is a lack of mechanism analysis and corresponding empirical test of Internet on environmental pollution. Therefore, the overall impact and path of Internet development on environmental pollution in China are studied and analyzed, and the corresponding empirical test is carried out.It has certain reference value for building a beautiful China. This paper first combs the literature on the development of the Internet and environmental pollution at home and abroad, and expounds in detail the effect of scale and technological innovation on the development of the Internet. The internal mechanism of structural effect and foreign trade effect on environmental pollution is found that the Internet will affect environmental pollution by promoting economic growth, optimizing industrial structure and promoting technological innovation.Secondly, using the data of 30 provinces and cities in China from 2003 to 2015,taking the Internet penetration rate as the index of Internet development, selecting industrial sulfur dioxide, industrial wastewater and industrial smoke(powder)dust as the measurement index to construct the comprehensive index of environmental pollution.Analyze me The current situation of Internet development and environmentalpollution in China; Finally, combined with the present situation of Internet development and environmental pollution, according to the relationship between Internet development and environmental pollution, this paper makes an empirical test on the overall effect and impact path of Internet development on environmental pollution. It is found that: first, the development of the Internet can reduce the level of environmental pollution on the whole, and the phased empirical results show that with the improvement of the development level of the Internet, the more obvious the effect on the improvement of environmental quality;Second, the Internet can improve the environmental quality by promoting economic development, promoting technological innovation and optimizing the industrial structure, but the Internet can not improve the environmental quality by improving the economic development, promoting technological innovation and optimizing the industrial structure. The level of foreign trade to improve the quality of the environment;Thirdly, based on the division of geographical regions,China is divided into three parts: East and West, and the influence of Internet development on environmental pollution is investigated, and it is found that there are obvious differences in the impact of Internet development on environmental pollution in different regions.
