Static electricity is extremely harmful to the particle filtration and separation system, especially in the process of oil/gas separation, fuel filtration and flammable dust air filtration. However, the current domestic research on filter media mainly focuses on filtration efficiency and service life.In terms of research, the research on anti-static filter materials is still blank. Therefore,on the basis of keeping the filtration performance of the filter material stable,it is extremely important to realize its antistatic performance. In this paper, carbon fiber and stainless steel fiber with different diameters are used as one of the important raw materials for preparing anti-static filter materials. The distribution of conductive fibers in the filter media their, and the effects of their types, dosages on the properties of the filter media are explored. The main contents are as follows:1.Firstly,the morphology and dispersibility of six different types of conductive fibers were analyzed.Comparing the microscopic morphology of carbon fiber and stainless steel fiber,it was found that the carbon fiber was roughly regular cylindrical shape, and after the disintegration treatment,it was still straight in the filter material. While the stainless steel fiber is an approximately cylindrical shape with obvious grooves on the surface, and is obviously bent in the filter material after disintegration. The dispersing performance of carbon fiber is better than that of stainless steel fiber. After mixing with stainless steel fiber and glass wool, the dispersibility is obviously improved after high shear treatment.2.Secondly,filter media containing 6 kinds of conductive fibers were prepared to investigate the effect of conductive fibers on the antistatic properties of the filter media. The results show that when conductive fibers are added to the filter material according to NV?number of fibers per unit volume?,it can be seen that to achieve the antistatic requirement of the filter material, the NV value of carbon fiber A is 5.80×1010 roots/m3,carbon fiber B,the NV values of 7.30×1010 roots/m3 and the diameters of 5.1?m,7.0?m,9.0?m,11.6?m of stainless steel fibers C,D,E and F are:8.69×1010 roots/m3,7.30×1010 roots/m3,5.80×1010roots/m3,4.41×1010 roots/m3.Moreover,due to the structure of the filter material, when the antistatic property of the filter material prepared by selecting the carbon fiber A having a diameter of 6.9?m and the stainless steel fiber D having a diameter of 7.0?m is stable, the former has a smaller electric resistance than the latter. In addition, the finer the fiber diameter, the smaller the conductive fiber mass ratio required for the realization of the antistatic property of the filter material, but the more the amount required.3.Then,the influence of conductive fibers on the structure and basic properties of the filter material was explored. The results show that when the fiber diameter is the same, when the same amount of carbon fiber with a diameter of about 6.9?m and 7.0?m stainless steel fiber are added to the filter material, the carbon fiber has no significant effect on the structure and basic performance of the antistatic filter material, but it contains stainless steel fiber.Filter media, with the increase of stainless steel fiber, the thickness gradually increased from467?m to 512?m,the air permeability increased from 100 mm/s to 157 mm/s,and the average pore diameter increased from 3.7?m to 5.7?m.The larger the diameter, the more significant the effect on its structure and basic properties.4.Finally,the effects of conductive fibers on the air filtration performance and liquid filtration performance of the filter media were investigated. The effect of adding carbon fiber on the air filtration performance of the filter material is not significant, but after adding stainless steel fiber, the filtration resistance, filtration efficiency and quality factor of the filter material are obviously decreased, and the influence on the filtration performance becomes more obvious as the fiber diameter increases;According to the previous experimental results,a carbon fiber with a diameter of 6.9?m having a NV of 5.80×1010 roots/m3 was used, and a filter material was produced by a pilot paper machine, and processed into a filter for liquid filtration performance and antistatic performance test. Its filtration ratio to 10?m?c?particles is 159.9,the dirt holding capacity is 11.5 mg/cm2,and the potential is 12 V.Compared with the ordinary glass fiber filter, the potential is reduced by 40%,and the antistatic performance is obviously improved, which meets the requirements of the application.
