With the continuous development of society,the functional requirements of traditional clothes such as practicality and warmth no longer meet people's needs.People pay more attention to the additional functions of clothes in the basic functions of traditional clothes,such as the breathability,water repellency,and stain resistance of clothes Additional functions such as resistance,UV resistance,antibacterial,and so on.Polyamide 6(PA6)and polyethylene terephthalate(PET),as the main textile fibers,are widely used in the field of textile and apparel.If PA6 and PET fibers are given wear-resistant,water-repellent,and anti-fouling functions,it will help to meet the needs of consumersand improve their market competitiveness.Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)is a hydrophobic silicone polymer.Due to its special structure of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms on the main chain of the molecule,the organic groups on the silicon atoms have some special properties,such as low surface energy,special flexibility,and good chemical stability.Applying it to the field of polymer processing can improve the melt fluidity and make the polymer easy to process.In this paper,polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)was used as a modified filler,and the PDMS pellet with a total content of 0%,1.5%,3.0%,and 4.5% are mixed with PA6 and PET pellet by physical blending.PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS blend fibers were successfully prepared by melt spinning and the fibers were woven into fabrics.The effect of PDMS addition on the melt flow and fiber structure and properties of PA6 ows: the flow properties of PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS blended melts were investigated by and PET were studied.The fabric style and characteristics were evaluated.The main work is as foll the capillary rheometer and melt index analyzer.The results show that the addition of PDMS can reduce the interaction between macromolecules and reduce the melt viscosity and the flow behavior of PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS blending melt are obviously promoted.The DSC test of the obtained blend fiber shows that the addition of PDMS has nearly no effect on the crystallization and melting characteristics of PA6/PDMS blend fiber.As the content of PDMS increases,the crystallization temperature of during melt cooling in PET/PDMS blended system has a certain tendency to decrease,and the melting peak remains essentially unchanged.With the increase of PDMS content,the thermal stability of PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS blended fibers is significantly improved compared with pure corresponding fibers.The tensile mechanical properties of the blend fibers were tested and found that the tensile strength of PA6/PDMS blend fibers was slightly reduced at the same draw ratio,but the elongation at break increased significantly,suggesting the tensile strength can be further improved by increasing the draw ratio.PET/PDMS blend fibers show increasing tensile strength with PDMS content(below 3.0%).When the PDMS content is 3.0%,the mechanical properties of PET/PDMS reach optimal value,and the mechanical properties of the two modified blend fibers can both meet the mechanical requirements for the clothing use.The friction coefficient on fiber surface shows that with the increase of PDMS content,the surface friction coefficient of PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS blend fibers shows a downward trend.When the PDMS content is 3.0%,the friction coefficient of both blend fibers decrease significantly.Compared with pure PA6 and pure PET fibers,the reduction can reach 46% and 29% respectively.It shows that the addition of PDMS can not only maintain the original characteristics of the fiber but also reduce the friction resistance of the fiber surface,due to which it has a lower friction coefficient.Finally,PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS blend fibers with excellent properties were woven into corresponding fabric,and their properties were analyzed through bending,compression,friction,water contact angle,and anti-fouling experiments.The experimental results show that the modified PA6/PDMS fabric surface is smoother,the rigidity and flexibility are increased,the fabric feels bright,and the bulkiness is also improved;when the amount of PDMS is 3.0%,the modified PET/PDMS fabric is smooth and soft to touch.The anti-fouling experiment research shows that the modified PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS fabrics can reach a maximum water repellent contact angle of 114.4°,115.2° and 122.7°,123.0°,respectively.The fabrics have obvious water-repellent and anti-fouling effects on common sources of pollution such as water,dark soysauce and soy sauce.It shows that the addition of PDMS can not only make PA6/PDMS and PET/PDMS blend fiber fabrics smooth and soft but also give the fabrics additional functions of water repellency and stain resistance.
