Abstract/Summary:
In recent decades, the rapid development of China’s economy has brought about serious pollution problems, which have already appeared widely in most regions of the country. It has a certain adverse impact on people’s health, and the strengthening of environmental regulations cannot be delayed. At the same time,China ’s residents’ pursuit of quality of life has also improved, not just the pursuit of GDP growth, which involves environmental protection and product quality.Based on the perspective of regional heterogeneity, this paper studies the impact of environmental regulation on the high-quality development of enterprises. In the aspect of theoretical analysis,in the process of analyzing the impact of environmental regulation on the high-quality development of enterprises, linear and nonlinear models and threshold effect models are constructed, and the theoretical mechanism is explored. In the aspect of empirical analysis, comprehensive indicators are used to replace the single indicator method to measure the intensity of environmental regulation and the indicators of high-quality development level of enterprises. For example, the intensity of environmental regulation(ERs)is the principal component analysis of the "three wastes" indicator of unit output value, which is integrated into a comprehensive indicator;the indicator of high-quality development level of enterprises is measured from five dimensions of innovation, scale, coordination, openness and sharing, which is integrated into a comprehensive indicator by factor analysis.First of all,the intensity of environmental regulation as an explanatory variable, using Eviews to do linear and non-linear regression analysis on the high-quality development of enterprises, while analyzing 30 provinces and regions in China, this paper analyzes the difference of the impact of environmental regulation on the high-quality development of enterprises in the East, middle and West Regions. Finally, the conclusion is drawn: under the condition that other variables are stable, the intensity of environmental regulation has a "inverted U-shaped" curve relationship with the high-quality development of enterprises in 30 provinces; The high-quality development of enterprises in the eastern region also presents a positive "inverted U" curve relationship;the high-quality development of enterprises in the western region presents a "positive U" curve relationship, which is consistent with the "innovation compensation effect" of the "Porter Hypothesis";the central region does not present an obvious "u" curve relationship. At present, environmental regulation has a significant positive correlation with the high-quality development of enterprises in the whole country and even in the eastern and central regions, while the impact of the central region is not obvious.Secondly, the threshold effect was analyzed by Stata. This paper is divided into two parts, the first part is the intensity of environmental regulation as the threshold variable, the second part is the threshold effect analysis of innovation driven by "innovative technology" and "pollution control".As for the threshold effect analysis,we can draw a conclusion that there are some differences in resources, proportion of state-owned enterprises above the scale, number of innovative investment, investment in environmental pollution control and so on in different regions.According to the threshold value of each variable,we can formulate the corresponding environmental regulation system.Based on the above conclusions,we can see that: according to the actual situation of each region, the environment and economic development of each region,we should take reasonable and appropriate environmental regulation measures to effectively promote the high-quality development of enterprises, and then improve the economic situation of each region.
