In recent years, with the continuous development of open-pit mining technology, the production scale of the mine is larger and larger, and the area of waste dump is larger and larger at home and abroad. In order to improve the economic benefits of the mine, the number of waste dump is more and more. With the continuous increase of the height of the waste dump, the stability problem is also followed.Among them, rainfall is the key factor that causes the slope instability of the waste dump.A large number of instability occurs before and after the rainfall. Therefore,it is very important to discuss the stability problem in the process of the waste dump and the impact of rainfall on the waste dump.Based on the project of Mirador copper mine waste dump in Ecuador, the East waste dump is selected as the research object.Based on FLAC3 D and FLAC2 D two numerical simulation software, the slope of the dump of Mirador copper mine in Ecuador is analyzed and discussed, and the safety and stability of different stacking steps are analyzed by combining the strength reduction method;after the stacking, the slope stability of unsaturated soil in the process of rainfall infiltration is analyzed by FLAC2 D simulation software, which provides a reference for the slope process of the dump in this area. The results show that:With the increase of stacking height, the stability of waste dump slope gradually decreases. When the slope is unstable, grid support is added to enhance the stability of waste dump slope. The potential slip surface position of waste dump slope in natural state is that it slides out in circular arc shape along the slope toe,and occurs in the interior of the bulk;with the continuous rainfall, the first affected area is the slope surface The layer is also the most affected area, which is prone to potential landslides. After the rainfall, the rainwater continues to collect downward, and the speed of rainwater dissipation at the foot of the slope is slower than that at the top of the slope. The greater the rainfall intensity is,the lower the elevation is,the greater the depth of rainwater influence is.The greater the rainfall intensity is,the greater the horizontal displacement and vertical displacement values at the same location are. With the continuous rainfall, the side of the waste dump is The safety factor of slope decreases gradually, and it will rise to a stable state after the rainfall;the greater the rainfall intensity, the greater the reduction of safety factor.
