As an important unit in the petrochemical production process,the gas fractionation device can not achieve satisfactory control effect due to its long process flow and strong internal coupling relationship.This article took a set of gas fractionation device of a petrochemical company as an object.A set of advanced control system was designed and developed based on the original conventional control technology by using information automation technology to realize the goal of efficient and stable operation of gas separation unit,energy saving and efficiency reduction,increasing product yield,as well as increasing economic benefit.In this article,the development status of advanced control and the demand for advanced control in the production process of gas fractionation devices were described in detail,as well as briefly introduced the production process flow and conventional control strategy of a set of gas separation device and its current bottlenecks,all which would provide important support for the subsequent advanced control scheme.Secondly,the development and design process of the advanced control system was designed in detail.The process of depropanizer tower of the gas fractionation device was simulated,and the relationship between the parameters was analyzed.Based on this,an advanced control scheme was proposed,and the advanced control system for the depropanizer tower was designed.Thirdly,the project implementation process of advanced control system was explained in detail.The basic system structure and software/hardware configuration were discussed,and the communication interface configuration was carried out through the OPC protocol to realize the online transmission and interaction of information between the host computer and the DCS.The logic switching interface design and the DCS configuration implementation of control operation interface were completed through the central control ECS-100 series DCS of Zhejiang University.Finally,the advanced control system was put into use.After a long period ofoperation,it realized smooth control,improved product yield,reduced energy consumption,reduced the labor intensity of operators,and reduced environmental pollution,which would produce good economic and social benefits.
