In the process of the substation operation,given the defects of substation grounding system,the main electrical equipment of substation in lightning and other conditions could be damaged.Due to the equipment damage,in extreme cases,the substation will stop running and endanger the power systems security and stability.Therefore,to put forward a safe and reliable lightning protection and grounding system in substation is necessary.Grounding system in substation effectively protects the power systems,and it has became one of main measures in existing substation to guarantee safety of personal and equipment.This article focuses on the installation of lightning protection and grounding design and 110 kV substation lightning protection and grounding system.To specificly illustrate it,combined with Golden Harvest 110 kV substation,the substation lightning protection and grounding design is depicted.It mainly contains four parts.Firstly,the lightning design is determined.The lightning rod design requires a reasonable range of sites to setup a associated and separate lightning rod.The protection range of the lightning rod is calculated to make sure the entire substation equipment and buildings within the scope of protection.Arrester design follows relevant standards and regulations to select arrester type and set point.Secondly,the grounding grid is designed.It meets the main grounding grid and equipment grounding requirements.Through calculating,the theoretical value grounding resistance of grounding grid,grounding line section,step and touch potentials is determined.Finally,found ground resistance after the ground grid construction is completed,if found ground resistance value to meet the design requirements then do not need to drop resistance.On the contrary,we need to take resistance reduction measures.Select resistance reducing need according to topography,geology,soil resistivity and other works of the case choose a reasonable economic program?Currently,the project resistance reducing design has been implemented.Substation has been put into operation,substation has been put into operation,after operation found,grounding resistance is not increased,running in good condition.In this paper,construction of substation grounding resistance reducing problem solved reasonably,correct 110 kV substation construction has important practical significance.By 110 kV substation lightning protection and grounding design preparation and learning,similar 110 kV substation for the future new lightning grounding providing reference help.
