Study On Renovation And Renewal Of Old Buildings Based On The Reproduction Of Block Collective Memory

With the process of urbanization,many cities are facing the phenomenon of collective memory disappearing.Especially in traditional block renewal,the phenomena of large-scale demolition and reconstruction,and imitation of traditional forms still happen.This may cause the separation and destruction for residents’ collective memory.For traditional block,the reproduction of collective memory is to maintain its history and culture.As a main carrier of collective memory,old building is an important expression form of block culture and resident memory.The old building renewal process needs to focus on the preservation and inheritance of block collective memory.Based on the theory of collective memory,this paper analyzes the relations between old building and block culture,memory,residents in traditional block renewal to explore a method of old building renewal based on representation of block collective memory.This paper uses block collective memory as the main starting point of whole research.Firstly,through the analysis of block collective memory,makes clear and definite s its advantages,contents,characteristics,modes and principles.Secondly,puts forward the material elements,block culture,block residents and block memory four aspects of identification through the analysis of the relationship between old building and traditional block renewal from the perspective of block collective memory.Thirdly,according to the above mentioned process and target,puts forward the principles and methods of old building renewal and further analyzes the related cases to prove the principles and methods.Finally,uses block collective memory as a starting point for Zhangzhou Qiaoxiang Theater renovation design according to the principles and methods mentioned above.In old building renewal process,the preservation and reconstruction of block collective memory is the continuation of block and city history and culture.And it’s also an important prerequisite for the integration of the surrounding environment and residents’ identity after renewal.In this paper,through the research on reconstruction and development of block collective memory in the process of old building renewal,which provides a new perspective for the renovation of old buildings.
