Cutterhead is the key part of the full face rock tunnel boring machine.In the course of tunneling,the cutterhead is subjected to the resistance of rock through the disc cutters,as well as the thrust caused by the main bearing behind the cutterhead.Therefore,the driving efficiency and the safety of TBM are directly affected by the service behavior of cutterhead.In the process of underground tunnel construction currently,there often occurs dehiscences,even fracture etc,on the cutterhead.It greatly reduces the tunneling efficiency,delays period and increases costs of the construction.Therefore,it is necessary to further analysis the deformation characteristics and regularity of cutterhead under the load of TBM tunneling fields.Finding the weak parts of the structure so as to improve the strength and rigidity of the cutterhead.Obtaining the correct drilling load is one of the most important conditions for the study of the structure characteristics of cutterhead.From the perspective of cutting,the tunneling process was regarded as the interaction between the disc cutters and rock.Based on the data of Aspo Hard Rock Experiment,the driving load of cutterhead was added by that of disc cutters.The study of mechanical properties of the cutterhead provided theoretical basis for the design and strengthening of the structure for the full face rock tunneling boring machine cutterhead.The main research contents of this paper are as followed:(1)Based on the theory of elasticity,the differential equation of the elastic curved surface of the cutterhead was given.With the coupling relationship,simply-supported and clamped,between the cutterhead and the main bearing,the theoretical model solutions of cutterhead elastic deformation were calculated.(2)The cutterhead elastic deformation was simulated by finite element method and the calculated results were compared and analyzed with the theoretical model solutions,just for finding the characteristics and rules of it.(3)Modal analysis was carried out todetermine the vibration characteristics of cutterhead.It laid the foundation for the research on the structure design and dynamic characteristics of the cutterhead.
