Research On Morpholigical Type And Modern Adaptability Of Merchant Courtyard Traditional Residences In Southern Taihang Mountain

As an important part of the traditional style in the small town――the traditional residence.It not only reflects the unique architectural space,but also contains the traditional way of life and inherits the historical memory of the town.With the acceleration of urbanization in China,these truditional residences which have important values are fiercely hit by the modern civilization and largely demolished and destroyed.Traditional residence in our country is regarded as the most comprehensive material and cultural heritage,and it is the most solid carrier of regional culture as well.It has the pivocal status in the world architecture art treasure house.Current research stiuation of our country is that for the study of famous ancient village is systemic and embedded,but the study of the living form and the modern adaptability for remote and smaller traditional residences are relatively sarce.This article bases on the research method of the artitectural typology,combination of cultural geography,cultural communication.In interdiscipinary persprctive,and the Merchant Courtyard residence in the Southern Taihang Mountain Area(passed fuming along East Handan,the west side of Changzhi),it conducts in-depth research visits and actual mapping,kown the traditional residence’s material space characteristics and the residents’ life and production stiuation,establish the type system of the Merchant Courtyard residence in the Southern Taihang Mountain Area,and conclud and analyse the modern adaptability,and give some update stratagies which attribute to development and culture heritage.The first chapter is the basic research on the research backgound an scope,the statues,methods and contents.The second chapter introduces the geographical features of the Southern Taihang Aera,from the natural environment,historical accumulation,cultural interaction,social development.These four aspects deeply ananlyse the natural history and culture background of Merchant Courtyard frmation.Thus it is beneficial to explore the living form to form a foundation.The third chapter describes the temporal investigation of Merchant Courtyard in the Southern Taihang Mountain Aera,and conclude respective summary and the current stiuation of modern adaptability.The fourth chapter is about the research methods of typology and morphology.The paper analyzes the prototype of the research object from five aspects: the settlement organization,the plane shape,the facade form,the function of space and the cultural expression.It establishes different aspects morpholigical type system,sums up the panterns to summerize the morpholigical characteristics of Merchant Courtyard residence in this region.This paper studies the merchant courtyard living form,is a study of its origin and development,morphological study under the influence of each other.The fifth chapter,combined with the investigation to analyse the modern founction of Merchant Courtyard,combined with the survey data to summarize the generation of adaptive factors,summarizes the factors of conflict and adaptability,and then develop the corresponding evaluation criteria of modern adaptability,which can provide reference for today’s update and design.
