In recent years,urban traffic congestion and air pollution are getting worse and worse with the fast increment of car ownership.Developing urban public transport to reduce the use of private cars is a practical way' to solve the above problems.The implementation of bus dispatching for multiple lines can improve the efficiency in using resources in contrast with the waste of human resources and station resources in the traditional bus dispatching method for single bus line.With the development of Internet of Things(IOT)and Intelligent Transport System(ITS),how to use mass real-time information to achieve effective real-time control for multiple lines has become a new highlighted problem in the dynamic bus dispatching research.Based on the above background,research on dynamic bus dispatching for multiple lines under the IOT environment has been conducted in this thesis,and the main work includes the following aspects:First,a basic dynamic bus dispatching model for multiple lines based on rolling horizon is presented and formulated based on mass real-time information under the IOT environment.The objective of this model is to minimize the total passenger waiting time and genetic algorithm(GA)is developed to solve this optimization model in the first planning horizon.Memory-based genetic algorithm is used for multiple planning horizons to improve the solving efficiency.Second,an optimization model which takes bus capacity limitation and non-uniform operating speed into consideration is developed to make it more practical.Some typical experiments are conducted,and the results show that the performance of the dynamic bus dispatching strategy meets the expectation.Third,by considering that buses of different sizes may be used in the daily operation,two mathematical models are developed to meet this requirement.One is to minimize passengers' waiting time,and the other is to minimize the sum of passengers' waiting expense and operating expense.Then GA is used to solve the cases under different passenger arrival rates,and the results show that better optimization effect is achieved by using buses of different sizes.Finally,an intelligent urban bus scheduling software system is developed based on the proposed dynamic bus dispatching methods.The dynamic scheduling module and the transit simulation module which are embedded with the dynamic bus dispathcing theory are developed by using C#language,Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 development platform and SQL server 2008.By combining with the transit network data,the intelligent urban bus dispatching platform software system can provide a variety of functions for dynamic dispatching.
