It is very important for the inspection work of the substation in power system.The traditional inspection task requires the maintenance men to patrol each substation every day or regularly,to collect a large number of running data and do a lot of daily inspection reports.The repetitive inspection work of substation is easy to make maintenance men to get boring,leading them to ignore the hidden danger which can be the grid accident.In order to take the development of the traditional operation mode and the application of the robot technology into account,the mobile inspection robot system for substation equipment has become the developing trend of substation inspection.According to the present situation of our country,the research of intelligent robot system is suggested to replace the heavy manual labor and the long-time repetitive work in the bad working environment.Along with the further promotion of "three sets of five" of the State Grid Co.,all of the 500kV substations in our province has implemented unattended operation at present.There are a series of problems caused by unattended prompt surveillance and patrol to a certain extent,which lost good timing of to conduct.These problems are solved after the intelligent inspection robot system of substations was installed in the 500kV substation,which can solve the problems effectively,reduce the repetitive work of maintenance personnel,reduce labor intensity,and making people more concentrate on the other maintenance work for the equipment.Based on the actual demand of inspection work,the paper studied the application of intelligent inspection robot in 500kV Dongtai substation.The functional requirements of intelligent inspection robot system in 500kV Dongtai substation were analyzed in the paper,too.For the hardwood building,the related basic engineering projects of intelligent inspection robot system such as the charging room,placing the special path,laying the magnetic track,embedding the RFID and installing the auxiliary equipment were designed,as well as the software-monitoring system of intelligent inspection robot in 500kV Dongtai substation;Then the paper discussed the key technologies of intelligent inspection robot in 500kV Dongtai substation,such as the sensors,reading analog instrument,inspection path navigation and communication of inspection robot;It further studied the engineering of the intelligent inspection robot system in 500kV Dongtai substation,analyzed the practical application cases,summarized the matters needing attention in the practical application,and then analyzed the abnormal problems and countermeasures of the robot inspection system in actual operation;And finally it discussed the applying problem of the intelligent inspection robot with laser navigation,proposed the scheme to transform the traditional inspection robot into laser robot in 500kV Dongtai substation,and then introduced the actual operation of the intelligent inspection robot after the transformation with laser navigation in 500kV Dongtai substation.Therefore,the research of the paper will provide valuable experiences for the next application of the intelligent inspection robot system of EHV and UHV substations in Fujian Province.
