SiO2/PET composite packaging film is a new type of flexible packaging material,Which is widely used in food, medicine and daily chemical, etc. However, the composite film does not have a large bond strength, resulting in a decreasing the performance of the composite film.In this paper,For the purpose of improving the bonding strength,a new type of SiO2/MgO-PTFE/PET composite film is designed.Through scanning electron microscopy?SEM?,energy spectrometer, adhesion strength tester and MOCON WVTR testers, the effects of depositing parameters on the adhesion strength and barrier property of the layers are systematically investigated. The optimum parameters are obtained.SiO2/MgO-PTFE/PET composite films are prepared by magnetron sputtering technology. The adhesion strength and the water vapor transmission rates of these films are characterized by adhesion strength tester and MOCON WVTR Testers. The results showed that compared with SiO2/PET composite film and SiO2/MgO/PET composite film, the the adhesion strength of SiO2/MgO-PTFE/PET composite film is increased by 345%and 97.98%respectively;compared with PET substrate,SiO2/PET composite film and SiO2/MgO/PET composite film, the water vapor transmission rate of SiO2/MgO-PTFE/PET composite film is reduced by 60.7%?50%and 32.9%respectively.The effects of depositing parameters of MgO-PTFE layers on the adhesion strength and barrier property of the SiO2/MgO-PTFE/PET composite film are studied. The results showed that:The adhesion strength firstly increased and then decreased but the water vapor transmission rate firstly decreased and then increased with the increase of Oxygen to argon ratio,PTFE quantity and transition layer thickness;when the base vacuum degree increases, the adhesion strength increase but the water vapor transmission rate decreases. The adhesion strength and barrier effects of the depositing parameters?Oxygen to argon ratio?local vacuum?PTFE radio-frequency power and sputtering time?of MgO-PTFE layers are studied using the orthogonal experiment method. The results showed that:?1?As for MgO-PTFE layers,Oxygen to argon ratio has the greatest effect on the adhesion strength and water vapor transmission rate, followed by base vacuum,PTFE radio-frequency power and sputtering time;the optimal depositing parameters of MgO-PTFE layers are that Oxygen to argon ratio of 1,base vacuum of 0.5×10-3Pa,PTFE radio-frequency power of140W and sputtering time of 25 min.?2?SiO2/MgO-PTFE/PET composite films deposited by the above optimum parameters have the highest adhesion strength and the lowest water vapor transmission rate.
