The electromagnetic clutches work on the principle of electromagnetic induction.,and the two rotational parts in the mechanical transmission system can combine or separate without stopping the rotation,and used to control the start,reverse,speed and brake of the machine.Compared with diaphragm spring clutches and hydraulic clutches,etc.,electromagnetic clutches have many advantages,such as automatically controllable,the structure is simpler,the size is smaller,respond faster,need less energy,and control easier.Therefore,electromagnetic clutches are installed in various machine tools and mechanical transmission system.With the development of the car's Control by Wire,electromagnetic clutches are used in more and more automotive transmission systems.Especially in new energy vehicles,the use of electromagnetic clutches is a more reasonable choice due to the greater power of onboard power supplies.This thesis designs an electromagnetic clutch and its controller used in electric vehicles.The details are as follows:1.Based on the working environment and procedure of electric vehicle,this thesis studies the working characteristics and the use environment of various types of electromagnetic clutches,then selects electromagnetic clutch using single friction plate,which has static coil,and combine with power,is used in air.2.The electromagnetic design of an electromagnetic clutch is completed.By calculating the relevant parameters such as inner and outer diameter of the friction plate,parameters of excitation coil,unit pressure,torque capacity,etc.,and verifying the heat production,electromagnetic suction,and the size of the friction plate,the design scheme is determined.3.The models the electromagnetic clutch is established and ANSOFT is used to calculate and calculate the electromagnetic field.Then compares the calculated magnetic flux density and electromagnetic force with the analytical calculation results to verify the rationality and feasibility of the solution and calculate error.4.The controller with DSPIC30F4011-20E/PT is designed.The hardware of the controller includes MCU circuit,power supply circuit,drive circuit,CAN communication circuit,sampling circuit.The software of the controller was compiled using the MPLAB IDE,include the main program,interrupt program and automatic fault detection program,and was debugged using the MPLAB ICD3 simulator.5.This thesis builds a test platform to test the designed electromagnetic clutch and controller.The electromagnetic suction obtained from the experiment is approximately consistent with the results of analytical calculation and simulation results.The controller can realize the control function of electromagnetic clutch.
