resources,but the construction of waterfront with respect to the cities in South China are also belongs to the late start of.Therefore,it is the better condition for promotion,coupled with the northern region both in climatic characteristics or in the cultural differences or in the level of economic development are and southern cities and foreign countries have very different,which resulted in the northern waterfront regional culture characteristic is very obvious,is worth us to explore and research.However,the research on urban waterfront area,especially in the northern region,is still in the initial stage.And this kind of research will enrich the experience of urban waterfront planning and construction in China.The Chifeng City,the Xibe River(British Jinhe)waterfront as the research object,through to the domestic and foreign urban waterfront development and review to the development,on the basis of the analysis of the influencing factors of the waterfront planning and design theory research and geographical characteristics of the urban waterfront planning and development,we put forward some planning strategies,design method and control and development strategies.A case study in this paper can be on how the geographical and cultural characteristics of the inheritance,to promote the development and construction of waterfront,improve the overall quality of the city,reshaping the image of the city,for the city gives new vitality to provide certain reference significance.
