As the core part of railway vehicle,the machining accuracy of railway axle is closely connected with the safety of railway transportation.At present,most axle manufacturing plants in China test the axle manually by adopting special measuring tools(micrometers).Due to the different operating methods,experience,and habits of operators,the measurement results are highly discrete and cannot meet the demand for measurement technology of high-speed railway axles.By analyzing and summarizing the characteristics of the shaft diameter measurement technology both at home and abroad,an automatic measurement system for the shaft diameter of the train is proposed.The measurement program mainly includes a friction drive system,a rolling support system,a floating probe,and so on.In order to ensure that the belt driving the axle to be tested reaches the predetermined effect,the mechanical problems in the relative movement of the timing belt,the timing belt pulley and the axle in the friction drive system are theoretically studied;the coordination relationship between the measuring force of the floating probe and the flexible measuring rail and the floating rail is studied.Rolling contact strength and so on.Based on the theoretical research,the design parameters of the key structure of the measurement system are optimized,and the engineering design of the train shaft diameter measurement system and the processing and assembly of the functional test prototype are completed.The experimental results show that the key structures of the designed train axle automatic measurement system,such as friction drive,rolling support and floating probe,can meet the functional requirements.Compared with similar designs,the measurement system has the characteristics of simple structure,low energy consumption and high precision.The analysis of the collected data shows that the system has a repeatability of 0.93 μm for measuring the diameter of the train axle.
