In recent years,the highway construction scale of China is very huge,a lot of modified asphalt is needed.At present,SBS modified asphalt is the mainstream road construction materials on the market of the modified asphalt,which also takes more oil resources.The using of waste rubber asphalt modification can not only avoid the SBS production wasting a large number of oil and energy consumption,but also makes full use of the both industrial and civil market of waste materials,especially have a degradation process difficult waste rubber resources,is the real resource-conserving society reutilized of important technical strategy.Therefore,Xing Fen highway preparatory office in Hebei province and research institute of highway ministry of transport jointly conducted " rubber and plastic alloy(TPE)asphalt modifier,road use performance and application demonstration" project.This paper developped a high-performance rubber and plastic alloy series products of modified asphalt based on the project,and built a test in Xing Fen highway by the Thermoplastic Elastomer(TPE)Compound.By researching on new type of rubber and plastic alloy TPE asphalt modifier preparation technology,the TPE asphalt modifier formula design was put forward,processing and preparation,a new type thermoplastic elastomer TPE alloy modifier without adhesion in the room temperature was developped.The high temperature performance,low temperature performance and dynamic rheological behavior etc of TPE modified asphalt was under further studied.Type TPE-1 modified asphalt with high-temperature performance was gotten in the research,which softening point is 30 ? higher than the matrix asphalt,and a TPE-2 type modified asphalt which has a balance of the high and low temperature performance is also been made,after testing,the performance index of TPE-2 type modification were significantly higher than that of matrix asphalt,and has realized the high temperature storage stability of modified asphalt.In the meantime,select representative samples of TPE modified asphalt and evaluate on pavement performance about the TPE modified asphalt mixture,then compared with SBS modified asphalt mixture,the results showed that the TPE modified asphalt mixture of high and low temperature and water stability performance all have different degrees of improvement,especially the high temperature performance,better than SBS modified asphalt,dynamic stability can be as high as more than 9000 times/mm.Finally,the quality control of the new type of rubber and plastic alloy TPE modified asphalt pavement construction process was studied,the problems need to be aware in pavement construction quality control was put forward,and the TPE modified asphalt of economic and social benefits analyzed.
