With the rapid development of science and technology, people are more demanding on transportation.Electronic automation has been widely applied to the intelligent transportation system. At present, highway toll gates are mainly based on manual and semi-artificial charging methods. In this way, traffic congestion caused by waiting in line for payment becomes a common phenomenon during peak hours. The application of the Electronic Toll Collection(ETC)has relatively eased this phenomenon. However, because the research of ETC system in China started late, and there is no uniform standard. Therefore,ETC fees cannot be fully implemented at most toll stations. The RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)technology is a key one in the ETC system. Therefore,it is of great significance to research the RFID in the ETC system. This article makes corresponding analysis and design on the RFID part of the ETC charging system. The embedded STM32F103ZET6 SCM is selected as the main control unit. Its powerful kernel ensures the stability of the system;the on board unit and the roadside unit select BK5822 and ML5800 separately as radio frequency chips.Firstly, the related configuration of SPI port is conducted in this paper. Then relevant system debugging and module building are carried out on Keil u Vision5 platform, and the measured and identified distance is up to 10 m.Thus the recognition function is realized. This article has also designed a 5.8GHz micro-strip patch antenna specifically for ETC system, and analyzed the related theories of the antenna, and then it has modeled for simulation optimization and made analysis to the simulation results by HFSS13.0 software. The results show that its performance basically meet the design requirements. Finally, this article employs a upper computer software which is exploited by C++ language on the Visual Studio2010 platform for recognizing, uploading and displaying the car tags, and it makes a real-time identification display to the uploaded data information. The display results can be used as a friendly human-machine interface. In the end, this paper summarizes and prospects,as well puts forward the shortcomings that need to be improved in this paper.
