The countryside is the foundation of human civilization. However,in the process of industrialization and urbanization, much attention has been paid on the development of the city and less on rural.Consequently, the level of urban-rural gap continues to widen. At the beginning of the 21 st century, due to rapid development of China’s economy, the imbalance between urban and rural constructions intensified once again. In the meantime, ecological environment of the rural was destroyed;a huge amount of land resources was occupied;traditional rural civilization was weaken;the traditional mode of production collapsed;traditional features was damaged and vanished. The contradictions between these problems and people’s increasing living conditions and demands were becoming increasingly acute and might even make the beautiful countryside of our country being in danger of disappearing which may not only affect the regional sustainable development ability, but also weaken the diversity and uniqueness of traditional Chinese building settlements. Thus,it is urgent to make a rural construction advanced with the times.Since 2004,Document No.1 of the Central Committee has been focused on the rural development. It provides guidance and measures towards rural development, improving farmers’ income, agricultural production and farmers’ living quality and living environment. With the strong support of government policy, all sectors of the society payed more attention to the rural construction. As the policy of new socialist countryside and beautiful countryside construction was put forward, the public was enthusiastic about the rural construction and there were more and more social organizations, architects and other people from all sectors of the society began to do something for the rural construction, such as: Wen Tiejun,Sun Jun,Li Changping, and Xie Yingjun who continued to focus on rural problems and make contributions to the rural construction.Overall, the current situation of the rural construction is relatively optimistic. However,China’s rural construction has not formed a complete theoretical system in the course of one hundred years of development. Therefore, the reality requires us to keep innovating the construction model on the basis of constantly learning and summarizing the practical experience we have gained in the past,so as to meet the needs of current rural construction. In practice, based the present situation of rural problems, construction methods and implementation measures are put forward to update and improve the original rural spatial structure, architectural form, and village layout,so that to build a harmonious, ecological, civilized, and sustainable beautiful countryside. The thesis takes the current rural construction boom and the method of architectural practices as the research objects and analyzes the social forces and architects in the rural construction under the present situation and representative models and cases of the rural construction one the basis of Document No.1 of the Central Committee. It also gives an overview of the policy background, social participation, professional studies of the current rural construction and summarizes the practical experience. On this basis, the thesis records the present situation of rural construction and presents problems by field survey, analyzes the reasons of the current problems, put forward reasonable solutions, and summarizes the effective methods and measures of rural construction practices. Finally, the thesis applies the rural construction practice methods and measures into actual rural construction practices, and perfects the theoretical research system in practice,so as to provide reference for subsequent rural construction practices.
