With the rapid economic developing and the rising of comprehensive national strength of china today,China's traffic construction cause is also booming, along with China's transportation construction Center westward shift, where is many mountains, the tunnel has become the first choice of highway to cross the mountains, however, the tunnel due to its unique driving environment, there are "black hole effect","white hole effect "," wall effect " and other undesirable phenomena, when the driver in the process of driving in or out the tunnel, obviously can feel visual discomfort, even visual short-term blindness, which makes the tunnel entrance to get more traffic accidents. At the same time,in order to solve the problem of brightness difference between the inside and outside of tunnel,at present, many of our country adopt the way of lighting strengthening section in the entrance section, but the illumination power of tunnel illumination is huge, this brings a lot of operation costs to the tunnel, and the huge lighting energy consumption not only brings great economic burden to highway Operation Department, also caused a lot of energy consumption and environmental pollution. In the emphasis on sustainable development and energy efficiency of today, this approach to the enormous energy consumption and the country's active implementation of green lighting policy has a certain contradiction, poor treatment will inevitably affect the sustainable development of highways. As an economical and effective ancillary facility, the light-reducing structure can effectively prolong the time and space of the driver's visual adaptation, but at present, there are few researches on the light-reducing structure, and there is a lack of mature principles and normative guidance in practical application. So this paper has conducted a series of investigation and test on the driver's visual adaptability and the safety of tunnel driving for the light reduction structure of tunnel entrance. This paper firstly investigates and statistics the current situation of tunnel illumination in China, expounds the setting meaning of the light reduction structure of tunnel entrance from three aspects that safety, economy and comfort, then investigates the visual characteristics of the driver tunnel based on the study of the light reduction structure of the tunnel. In this paper, the tunnels with light reduction structures is also carried out,and the actual tunnel driving experiments are conducted, and the unreasonable setting of the tunnel light reduction structures and the lack of mature theory and guiding principles are summarized.Secondly, the indoor model of tunnel light reduction structure and tunnelentrance section is established,an indoor simulation test based on the change of pupil diameter and reaction time was carried out by means of SMI Eye-Tracking instrument, stepless dimming lamp and light sense timer, and the brightness setting curve of the light reduction structure of the fitting driver's visual adaptability curve was obtained. Then according to the test results, combined with the current tunnel lighting settings, put forward the use principle and setting principle of the light reduction structure. Finally, the economic analysis and calculation of the tunnel light reduction structure are carried out according to the principle.Through the research of this paper,in the condition of satisfying the safety and comfort of tunnel driving, this paper puts forward the application principle of tunnel light reduction structure, and excavates the huge application potential of tunnel light reduction structure in solving the problem of brightness difference between inside and outside tunnel, which provides scientific, reasonable and effective theoretical support for the application of light reduction structure in highway tunnel.
