Against the rapid urbanization, villagers' sense of identity towards traditional civilization in rural areas is gradually weakened under the influence of the expansion of urbanization and the radiation of modern civilization in cities and towns, and traditional villages are in the dilemma of "demolition and preservation",driven by the increasing demand for material civilization..The strong demand for real material life has even forced many traditional villages to abandon the old civilization and build"urbanized" villages. With the change of the traditional rural pattern and the destruction of the architecture and the traditional space, the traditional civilization of hundreds of years and even thousands of years has disappeared completely. The development of beautiful rural construction provides the best opportunity for the traditional village to get out of the difficult situation. The traditional village is different from the general village, whose rich material culture and immaterial culture content is rarely seen in the general village. The characteristics of traditional villages determine that its construction is based on the principle of"protection first, and moderate development",which is different from the principle of "attaching importance to development and light protection" in beautiful villages. Therefore,in the implementation of beautiful villages, the construction of traditional villages should recognize both"contradiction" and "unity",and seek unity in the contradictions, based themselves on the present, combining with the basic requirements of the construction of traditional villages. On this basis, this paper takes the traditional village Hakka in the west of Fujian as the object of this study, and excavates the basic characteristics of the Hakka traditional villages as a branch of Chinese traditional villages and their own characteristics, through the field investigation of 23 Hakka traditional villages.Integrated with the existing problems in the investigation, this paper puts forward feasible strategies for the protection and development of traditional Hakka villages in the west of Fujian.Starting from the "sustainable development",this paper selects 12 representative traditional Hakka villages to deeply analyze on its landscape pattern, the form of village space, the space of streets and alleys, the building entity and the courtyard space following the principle of holistic protection of the traditional villages from the elements of the villages,on the basis of the study of the protection and development of the traditional Hakka villages in the west of Fujian.Secondly, starting with the "excavation" and "inheritance" of the immaterial culture of the village, the relationship between spiritual culture and cultural identity to village of villagers is deeply analyzed. And according to the specific practical problems, this paper puts forward the corresponding basic strategies of protection and development, and explores practical and effective ways to implement, with the goal of preserving village style, developing village life, inheriting traditional culture and ensuring the sustainable development of villages. Finally, taking Liancheng Pitian Village as an example, this paper analyzes the concrete material and non-material cultural contents of Pitian, and excavates the existing deficiencies in the conservation and development of Peitian on this basis, thus putting forward specific protection and development strategies,as the guidance of sustainable development of Peitian,to guiding similar traditional villages to make breakthrough the current plight in the beautiful rural construction, and to achieve a harmonious,long-term healthy development.
