| As the aging population becomes increasingly large,their health problems have aroused more and more attention.Health problems have not only influence the lives of the aged,but also impedes the social development.For example,due to the impairment to cognition,their memories decline,their execution functions gradually fail,and they have more and more difficulties in language production and comprehension.Statistics show that more than 7 percent of those aged over 60 years old have mild cognitive impairment,which inflicts more and more aging population as they get older.Besides,the aged inflicted with slight cognitive impairment are several times more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease than those normal aging population,and the proportion for such development among those inflicted is between 10 and 15 percent.There is no effective cure yet for Alzheimer's disease so far and there are no products designed to prevent the mild cognitive impairment of the aging population.Therefore,early diagnosis and interference is a current research focus.This paper,through study of the current situation of the mild cognitive impairment among the aging population,its types and their physiological properties,finds the effective way of promoting their cognitive abilities by way of stimulating their brain.Based on the research analysis of the mild cognitive impairment,and taking various interference methods as the theoretical basis,this paper proposes product design ideas that combine stimulation of the acupuncture points on the hand with cognitive training and that involve stimulation of multi-sensual organs.It then puts forward design methods for the final products through a detailed analysis of the methods mentioned above.Finally,it proposes that product design should take account of the design elements such as colors and materials and also the analysis result of the aging population based on theories of human-machine engineering,in order to design suitable,entertaining and safe products. |
