Traffic is related to whether the economic,social and cultural activities of a city or even a region can be carried out smoothly.With the further development of new urbanization in China,transportation plays an increasingly important role in supporting regional economic sustainable development,social harmony and stability.Since the urbanization has entered the process of accelerated development,all aspects of traffic problems have begun to appear continuously.Traffic congestion,the quality of traffic infrastructure and the environmental deterioration caused by traffic have begun to perplex everyone.As the theory of circular economy,the theory of sustainable development and the theory of ecological footprint have been put forward one after another,the research related to the carrying capacity has been gradually applied to the research fields of economics,earth system science and sociology,and become a mature method to study the sustainable development of ecology,resources and environment.This paper constructs the evaluation index system of road traffic carrying status from three dimensions,such as scale index,structural index and benefit index,and uses entropy method to evaluate the road traffic carrying status of 21 city and state samples in Sichuan province.According to the evaluation results,the SPSS23.0 data analysis software is used to classify the sample point system clustering into five types of regions,such as the poorest bearing state,the poorer bearing state,the general bearing state,the good bearing state and the superior bearing state.On the basis of summarizing and generalizing the commonalities and characteristics of each type,the traffic development situation of each type is analyzed,and some pertinent suggestions are put forward.At present,experts and scholars mainly focus on traffic "carrying capacity",carrying capacity of carrying capacity from engineering geology to ecology.With the development of cross discipline,the carrying capacity has become a limit to the development of a certain transaction.With regarding to traffic capacity,scholars at home and abroad have already begun to pay attention to it and have obtained many research results,but most of them are concentrated on the calculation and evaluation of traffic capacity.Traffic carrying capacity is the largest amount of traffic activity that can be borne under the condition of a specific traffic system without exceeding the limits of resources and environment.However,the traffic capacity only reflects the superiority or inferiority of a region or a traffic carrier "quantity" in a certain sense.However,the size of the "quantity" does not directly reflect the good or bad of a regional traffic operation.This requires the introduction of a "qualitative" concept which can reflect the operation of the transport carrier,and the innovation point of this article.Theconcept of "traffic carrying state" is introduced,which is used to evaluate the quality of road traffic carrying capacity,and the ratio of carrying medium and bearing object is used as a measure index of the quality of carrying state.Through the evaluation and the analysis of the evaluation conclusions,we can find the restrictive factors that restrict the development of road traffic scientifically,and find the breakthrough point to break the bottleneck,which has distinct theoretical and practical significance.
